Steve is good person don’t get me wrong. But…I paid this company £550 for a fixed-price repair after they told me with “99% certainty” that they had identified the source of my leaking roof. After the job was done, absolutely nothing changed – the water was still running inside my house exactly as before. When I contacted them again, they came back out and suddenly decided the real issue was actually a torn membrane under the tiles in the loft. So the first diagnosis (which I paid for) wasn’t accurate at all. To fix the actual problem, they then quoted another £700 – which feels excessive considering we already spent £550 on a job that wasn’t even necessary. Their justification was that the extra work is “good practice” on older houses. If that’s the case, it should have been identified properly in the first place. By that logic, we might as well replace the entire roof. They refused to reduce the price and took no responsibility for the incorrect initial assessment. At the end of the day, I ended up going through my house insurance company instead. Even with making a claim, it can’t be as bad as paying nearly £1,300 for work that didn’t fix the issue. Steve is an all round great guy. He is friendly, reliable and does a good job for a fair price. I had a gutter leaking at a join, and assumed the rubber had perished. Paid £90 on 21/09/2022 for gutter cleaning and the photo is from today 25/10/2022. What an amazing job you have done. As we can not check the work you think is ok to deceive your customers like this? Glad I did not go forward with the recommended gutter replacement as it seems all was needed was a bracket adjustment.
