I’m never one to complain but after trying to speak privately to this company and having my WhatsApp messages and email ignored feel like I have no other option but to try and warn others to avoid. Me and my 2 housemates moved all of the furniture into the van, our belongings were then dumped outside of the property, we’re on a 3rd floor flat no lift which I explained when booking which I was told wouldn’t be a problem. The driver stood watching my friend and I struggle with boxes and bags, he also decided to start calling my friend racist comments not bothering to learn her name but instead refer to her as “China” and joking that she was lazy doing “no work” while he stood and watched, we paid a lot for a taxi service not a movers. I was quoted a fixed price, and before starting the job they even watched a video of all the items, so they knew exactly what needed to be moved. Once they started loading, they suddenly said the price I paid was only for one load. After finishing the first load, they then demanded double the money for a second load, which was never clearly explained beforehand. This feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. SCAM – AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This company is extremely misleading. Over the phone, I was told we were booking the truck for 8 hours, which they also confirmed it was perfect for a property chain completion when unloading times can be uncertain. However, on the day, after just 6 hours, the team suddenly refused to continue unloading in the new property, unless I paid an additional £350, claiming it was for "2 hours of waiting time.” I challenged this, pointing out that we were still well within the 8 hours agreed and that they had already begun unloading earlier in the garden. Their response was to point to a small, obscure note in the contract that had never been mentioned and which directly contradicted what I was told about having the truck for 8 hours. They refused to continue unless I paid immediately (with “cash preferred”), effectively holding all of my belongings hostage in the truck. It felt very much like blackmail.
