They did an excellent job, working hard at some difficult tasks. It was a pleasure to have them. It was expensive, hence four not five stars, because, I suspect, the work didn’t take as long as Jack expected.

These guys went above and beyond. Weather was atrocious, practically pitch black and they still did a great job. It took them less than 24 hours from initial phone call to completion, definitely recommend! Will be using again

Roofing Installation or Replacement
I had enough sheeting to cover my carport with a 1 crown overlap but they did a 2 crown overlap on the first sheet so now I have a 15cm gap at the end of the carport. The sheets should of been flush against the wall but a gap was left and now the sheets cover the gutter on the other side and aren't lined up properly. The stickers they said they would remove are still on the sheets. My husband was angry when he got home and saw what they had done. He told me I shouldn't have paid them and advised that they watch a few YouTube videos before attempting a job they are not familiar with. I spent 3 hours cleaning up the huge mess they left me. Not cool guys. Now I'm left with trying to fix this at an extra cost to me. More...

Hi Therese, I’m sorry you are unhappy with the work we carried out was unsatisfactory. Please do get in touch so we can rectify this. As for the the gap, you did not inform us that you wanted a one crown overlap. It is suggested that one should be a minimum overlap. As for the PVC not being flush, we assumed you had bought PVC wall flushings. So, we do apologise of making the assumption you didnt want it flush, as there was only a minimal gap. As for the stickers, again, I think it was down to a miscommunication, we were under the belief that you wanted the sticker with the barcode gone, not the warning sticker. As for clean up, we made sure to clean up before we left, I’m sorry if it wasnt to a good enough standard of cleanliness, and I am disappointed you didn’t say anything as we would have been more than happy to clean up more if you weren’t happy. Please do get in touch with us as we put a high expectation on ourselves for customer satisfaction. Many thanks, Jack

I stumbled upon J.R. Gardening through a Google search for local gardeners, and I must say, it has been an absolute delight having Jack take care of our garden borders and shrubs.
Jack is a true professional who works swiftly and efficiently, leaving no room for complaints. His dedication to his craft is evident in the meticulous care he provides. It's not every day that you come across such a well-mannered and skilled young man who not only meets but exceeds expectations.
From the very first interaction, Jack's commitment to delivering on his promises shines through. He carries out tasks exactly as described, and the results speak for themselves. Our garden has never looked better, and it's all thanks to Jack's hard work and expertise.

A pleasure to employ Jack for the afternoon who tidied my garden for winter and mowed my grass. Worked solidly, cleaned up after himself and followed all my requests.
What do you love most about your job?
What we enjoy most is the combination of visible results and customer satisfaction. A lot of outdoor work is transformational—clearing a space, reducing a hedge, installing a smart new fence or gate, levelling and seeding a lawn area, or turning an awkward garden into something practical and tidy. There’s real pride in stepping back at the end of the job and seeing a clear “before and after.”
We also genuinely value the relationships we build. Many of our clients come back year after year or move from one job to the next—starting with a tidy-up, then fencing, then planting, then ongoing maintenance. That kind of trust is earned, and we take it seriously.
From a team perspective, we enjoy the craft and problem-solving: slopes, access challenges, drainage, awkward boundaries, and getting levels and finishes right. It’s hands-on work, outdoors, and no two days are identical. When you combine that with a happy customer and a tidy, well-finished site, it’s a good feeling—and it’s why we do what we do.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Evergreen Grounds started from a simple observation: lots of people struggle to find an outdoor contractor who is genuinely reliable, communicates clearly, and finishes jobs properly. We saw too many customers left with half-done work, vague pricing, or poor aftercare—and we knew there was room for a local company that did things in a more professional, transparent way.
We built Evergreen Grounds around the standards we’d want if we were the customer: turn up when we say we will, do what we said we would do, keep the site safe and tidy, and leave a result that lasts. Over time, what began as a small operation grew through word of mouth and repeat work because customers appreciated a straightforward approach and consistent quality.
We also enjoy the variety of the work. One week we might be improving a private garden with hedging, fencing, turfing or pathways; the next we’re supporting a commercial client with grounds maintenance, site presentation, or winter services. The common thread is always the same: taking an outdoor space and making it more usable, safer, and easier to maintain.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients choose Evergreen Grounds because we combine practical skill with a professional service experience—clear communication, reliable scheduling, and workmanship that holds up.
What we do differently:
Itemised quotes, no hidden costs
We price properly and transparently. Clients can see what’s included and why, which avoids misunderstandings later.
We are tidy, respectful, and site-conscious
Whether it’s a home garden or a commercial site, we work safely, keep disruption down, and leave areas clean and presentable at the end of the job.
We focus on long-term results, not quick fixes
Proper preparation, correct levels, solid post setting, appropriate materials, and a durable finish—especially important for fencing, gates, paths, turfing, and structural garden work.
Good communication and realistic timelines
We keep clients updated, turn up when we say we will, and set expectations clearly from the start.
Domestic and commercial capability
We’re comfortable with one-off garden jobs as well as ongoing maintenance and larger, more structured commercial requirements. We understand the importance of consistency, site presentation, and safe working.
Ultimately, we’re not trying to be the cheapest option—we aim to be the option that makes the whole process easy, gives you confidence, and delivers a finish you’re proud of.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes—while most outdoor work ultimately needs an on-site visit, we can handle parts of the process remotely to save time and speed things up.
Remote support we can provide:
Initial estimates from photos/videos
If you send clear pictures, a short video walkthrough, and basic measurements, we can often give a helpful budget range or initial estimate.
Remote advice and planning
We can advise on options like fencing styles, gate layouts, hedge reduction scope, turfing prep, planting plans, and maintenance schedules based on what you want to achieve.
Quote preparation and scheduling
Once we’ve reviewed your details, we can prepare an itemised quote and discuss timings without needing multiple visits.
Important note:
For accuracy—especially with levels, access, ground conditions, and exact quantities—we may still recommend a quick site visit before confirming a final figure. That ensures pricing and scope are correct and avoids surprises.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We take customer safety seriously and keep sensible health and hygiene practices in place, especially when working around occupied homes, nurseries, and commercial premises.
Our approach includes:
Minimising unnecessary close contact
Where possible, we confirm details by phone/message and keep on-site discussions brief and practical.
Good hygiene standards
Hand sanitiser available, regular hand washing, and cleaning of commonly handled tools/equipment where appropriate.
Respecting indoor spaces
We generally do not need to enter homes. If access is required, we keep it minimal and follow the customer’s preferences.
Staff wellbeing and sensible precautions
If anyone is unwell, they do not attend site. We can reschedule promptly to protect customers and staff.
Safe working and tidy sites
Regardless of Covid, we maintain safe working practices—clear walkways, controlled waste handling, and a clean finish at the end of each day.
We’re happy to adapt to any site-specific requirements (for example, childcare settings, commercial rules, or customer preferences).
Grass Cutting
Evergreen Grounds provides reliable grass cutting and lawn maintenance for domestic and commercial clients. Whether you need a one-off cut to get things back under control or a regular programme to keep your grounds looking sharp, we deliver a neat finish, consistent standards, and a tidy site every time.
We cut lawns to suit the season and the condition of the grass, with careful attention to edges, borders, and obstacles to leave a clean, professional result. For clients who want that “show lawn” look, we can also provide striping and presentation cuts where appropriate. We’re happy to work around access times for businesses, schools, and nurseries to keep disruption to a minimum.
Clippings can be collected and removed or mulched back into the lawn where suitable, and we can combine mowing with other services such as strimming, edging, weed control, hedge/shrub maintenance, seasonal tidy-ups, and feeding/aeration guidance to improve overall lawn health.
We offer one-off visits or scheduled maintenance plans, with clear communication and itemised quotes so you know exactly what’s included. If your lawn needs regular attention to stay looking its best, Evergreen Grounds can help.
Hedge Cutting
Evergreen Grounds provides professional hedge cutting and maintenance for domestic and commercial clients, whether you need a one-off cut, a regular schedule, or a visit as and when required. From quick tidy-ups to full reductions, we keep hedges neat, healthy, and manageable—without leaving a mess behind.
We can maintain hedges to a consistent height and shape, improve light and access, and prevent overgrowth from becoming a bigger (and more costly) job later on. We cut a wide range of hedge types and can also handle more demanding work such as large hedge reductions and overgrown boundary lines.
All work is completed with a tidy finish, including cleanup and waste removal as standard (or arisings can be left on site if preferred). For customers who want an easy, year-round solution, we can set up a simple maintenance plan—seasonal trims, annual reductions, or site-specific schedules for commercial grounds.
You’ll receive a clear, itemised quote with no hidden costs, and we’ll leave the area clean and tidy on completion.
Weeding
Evergreen Grounds provides professional weeding and bed maintenance for domestic and commercial clients, whether you need a one-off clearance, a regular programme, or support as and when required. We help keep borders, paths, patios, and planted areas tidy, reducing competition for nutrients and improving the overall look and health of your garden or grounds.
We can remove weeds from flower beds, shrub borders, gravel areas, paving joints, and around structures, with careful attention to surrounding plants and finished surfaces. Where appropriate, we can also apply targeted weed control treatments as part of a wider maintenance plan to help prevent regrowth and keep areas manageable for longer.
All work is completed with a tidy finish, including collection and removal of green waste (or left on site if preferred). We can also combine weeding with services such as mulching, border edging, pruning, hedge cutting, and seasonal tidy-ups to keep the whole space looking sharp.
We provide itemised quotes with no hidden costs, and we’re happy to arrange either scheduled visits or flexible call-outs depending on what suits your property best.
Strimming
Evergreen Grounds provides professional strimming and edging for domestic and commercial clients, either as a standalone visit or as part of a regular grounds maintenance programme. Strimming is ideal for tackling areas a mower can’t reach and keeping everything looking tidy and well-finished.
We strim and edge around fences, walls, trees, borders, posts, playground equipment, kerbs, and tight corners, leaving clean lines and a consistent finish. This includes trimming back longer growth on verges and rough areas, and we can also neaten around beds and pathways to help maintain a smart overall appearance.
Strimming can be carried out as:
A one-off tidy-up to get things back under control
Regular scheduled maintenance alongside grass cutting
As-needed call-outs during peak growing periods
All arisings can be collected and removed, or left on site where suitable. We work safely and tidily, keeping disruption to a minimum and leaving the area clean on completion.
Itemised quotes are provided with no hidden costs, and we’re happy to tailor a maintenance plan around your site and budget.
Tree trimming
Evergreen Grounds provides professional tree trimming and cutting back for domestic and commercial clients, whether you need a one-off visit, a regular maintenance plan, or support as and when required. The aim is simple: keep trees safe, tidy, and well-managed—while maintaining their shape, health, and the space around them.
We can cut trees back from buildings, fences, driveways, footpaths, and overhead areas, improving clearance, reducing shade where appropriate, and preventing branches from becoming a hazard in high winds. Typical works include light pruning, shaping, crown lifting for clearance, and removal of dead or damaged branches. For more significant work, we can also advise on reductions or removals as part of a wider tree management plan.
All work is carried out with a strong focus on safety, neatness, and minimal disruption. We can remove and dispose of all arisings, or chip and leave on site if preferred. On completion, we leave the area clean and tidy, with a clear explanation of what’s been done and any recommended aftercare.
We provide itemised quotes with no hidden costs, and can arrange either scheduled visits or flexible call-outs depending on what best suits your property and budget.
Pressure washing
Evergreen Grounds provides professional pressure washing and exterior cleaning for domestic and commercial clients, restoring tired outdoor areas and improving safety by removing slippery build-up. We clean multiple surface types and tailor the method to suit the material, ensuring an effective clean without unnecessary damage.
We can pressure wash:
Patios and paving (stone, concrete, flags)
Block paving and driveways
Paths, steps, and entrance areas
Decking (carefully, where appropriate)
Walls, kerbs, and forecourts
Commercial walkways and shared access routes
As part of the service, we remove algae, moss, grime, and surface staining, and we can also offer re-sanding for block paving and regrouting / joint repairs where required to leave a more complete finish. For problem areas, we can recommend a maintenance plan to keep surfaces looking good year-round.
We work neatly and safely, controlling runoff where possible and leaving the area clean and tidy on completion. You’ll receive an itemised quote with no hidden costs, and we’re happy to quote for one-off cleans or regular maintenance for commercial premises.
Tree Sugery
Evergreen Grounds provides professional tree surgery for domestic and commercial clients, helping keep trees safe, healthy, and well managed. Whether you need a tree tidied up, reduced back from buildings, or fully removed, we carry out the work carefully, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to your property.
Our services include crown reductions and thinning, crown lifting, deadwood removal, pollarding, and sectional dismantling for trees in tight or high-risk locations. We also undertake tree felling and removals, including controlled takedowns where access is limited or there are nearby structures. Where required, we can arrange stump grinding and reinstate the area afterwards.
Safety and site presentation are central to how we work. We plan the job properly, use the correct equipment, and keep the work area tidy throughout. All arisings can be removed from site, or, if preferred, chipped and left for use as mulch. On completion, we leave the area clean and tidy, with clear communication throughout the process.
If you’re unsure what your tree needs, we’re happy to advise and provide an itemised quote with no hidden costs.
Bespoke Shed Building
At Evergreen Grounds, we design and build bespoke sheds made to fit your space, your storage needs, and the style of your garden. Whether you need a compact tool store, a larger mower/kit shed, or a durable outdoor storage solution with double doors, we build sheds that are solid, weatherproof, and built to last—not flimsy off-the-shelf units.
We can supply and install sheds in a range of sizes and finishes, including custom door positions, windows, shelving, stronger floors for heavier equipment, secure locks, and upgraded cladding/roofing options. If you have an awkward corner, sloping ground, limited access, or want the shed to match existing fencing or structures, we can tailor the build to suit.
Where required, we can also take care of the base—such as a timber frame base, slab base, or paved foundation—to ensure the shed sits level, drains properly, and remains stable over time. Every job is completed with a tidy finish, with waste removed and the area left clean and usable.
If you’d like a shed that fits properly, looks right, and stands up to the weather, get in touch for an itemised quote.
