I highly recommend working with Ryan. We had the great pleasure of collaborating with him to design what was meant to be our forever home. Ryan was meticulous in both his design and approach, always available to meet, discuss options, and truly understand our vision. Ryan has a wealth of knowledge of the industry and helped us navigate that complexity. He went above and beyond his role to ensure all third parties worked together seamlessly throughout the process. Although we ultimately didn’t proceed with the build due to relocating overseas, we would absolutely work with Ryan again when the next opportunity arises More...

What do you love most about your job?
Problem solving. Half of my job is technical know-how but the other half is problem solving. As a designer I'm here to produce ideas, interpret those of my client and to ultimately combine them to ensure the success of a project. The success of a project can be determined in many ways but for me, its to ensure a site/property has maximised its potential and that my service is second to none.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was made redundant in early 2022 and this was the kickstarter to an idea of old. I'd always wanted to develop my own business and to offer a service which picked up on many of the important, well-oiled functions of the typical high-end Architectural firms I'd worked for in the past but to also solve the many frustrations my clients had faced, which a larger firm simply cannot turn fast enough to resolve, even at the highest end of the market. I wanted to create a dynamic Architectural Studio that offers all the typical services of a traditional Architect, yet with the passion and holistic approach each project deserves, that often sadly is lost in the process... because firms see it just as that... a process. For me and my clients, its a journey.
Why should our clients choose you?
My business and I have been founded based on experience ranging from inception to completion over nearly a decade in the high-end residential sector. I apply the same level of quality and attention to detail whether I'm working on a large 10,000sq.ft. home or the smallest of remodels and extensions. I believe my background as an Architectural Technologist under CIAT, combined with my design flair is my most valuable asset to support a service that competes with much larger firms at a much smaller price point. Consider this with my links to some of the industry's best, ensures my clients receive the solutions they need and deserve
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I prefer to meet my clients and see the site/property in-person, but I have worked remotely for over 5 years in the past on large residential schemes, even running these as Lead Consultant of a design team, so remote provision can be allowed for and delivered successfully, if this is the preference or circumstance.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Covid 19 protection measures have now been relaxed significantly, but dependent on my client' requirements, we can arrange for virtual meetings or protected communication in-person using masks, social distancing and hand sanitisation. I myself have had all the recommended vaccinations and we also ensure we follow any current UK government guidelines on testing and isolating.
Concept Design
We used to call this the ‘Feasibility Stage’, whilst
feasibility studies will still be undertaken during this
stage where required, this stage also covers any initial
sketching or formulation of ideas whether in drawn,
written or other documented formats. It allows us to
present initial ideas and to form a concept to move
forward with together. Concepts will evolve but
generally these should meet the brief’s core
requirements with options to explore further.
Planning + Developed Design
Here we will agree on a sketched concept to move
forward with. We’ll then develop this into a set of
proposals that reflect the initial ideas but will define
decisions more precisely. This is also the stage where
planning drawings will be collated and submitted,
and where 3D models will be progressed and
perhaps CGI’s produced. We aren’t quite at technical
design stage yet but most of the general layouts and
aesthetics will have been discussed and agreed.
Technical Design - Construction + Building Regs. Drawings
Otherwise known as the construction or technical
drawing stage. Dependent on the level of input
required, this could be outline details for coordination
with a contractor for a Building Notice, a Building
Regulations submission or a fully detailed and
tendered scheme. We’ll advise on what we feel is the
correct level of input, including what role we will hold
and the right third party consultants to appoint.
3D Modelling
We can provide 3D models of your scheme, either designed by ourselves or others. We offer three tiers of modelling to help you decide on how much detail you require as part of this service; Level 1, 2 and 3, each with its own degree of detail and associated fee.
CGI Visualisations
Our external CGI’s provide a fully rendered photo-realistic, digital, artist impression of your scheme and can be provided as a service when opting for a Level 3 Model. Whilst we only produce external CGI stills in-house, we are able to source video flythroughs, internal visuals and VR experiences through collaboration with a selected pool of independent studios for which we can coordinate to ensure consistency with our designs.
Remedial Detailing
We can provide services for remedial construction detailing to existing properties. This may be required should you have an existing defect with you property and wish to have this resolved. We work alongside some of the industry's best, including Surveyors, Structural Engineers and Contractors to help rectify and resolve areas of concern.
Interior Layout Illustrations
Working for or alongside an Interior Designer, we provide hand-drawn digital floor plan illustrations to assist in the presentation of furniture layouts and interior floor plans
Construction Stage Involvement
Here your dreams are realised and the contractor
now starts on-site. Most projects require a level of
input here whether it be to provide continued
coordination, additional drawings for areas not
necessarily needed under technical design but now
needed to assist a contractor with a tricky junction
they’re not sure on, or just for our assistance with site
queries. We also offer continuation of the Building Regs. Principal Designer role at this stage too.
