He was fun, knowledgeable, very experienced and put both of us at ease very quickly at the photo shoot. First of all let me say that I am not someone that usually enjoys having their photograph taken, or in most cases, the end results. After needing some headshots for my career, I was nervous at finding a photographer that could work for, and with me.However, the experience of working with Andrej was a really positive one and I am so glad that I found him. What a great experience. Over the years I've done numerous headshots sessions with different photographers, and this was by far the best. Andrej really knows what he is doing and understands what actors want from a headshot session. He has a brilliant way of putting you at your ease. It was an absolute joy to work with Andrej. He made me feel completely at ease through the entire process; from the minute I arrived to when I received the finished set of prints. His passion and dedication to his craft shone through as we tried a multitude of various combinations of lighting, angles and backgrounds to achieve a variety of different looks. His direction was clear and concise, and he was also willing to try suggestions I had, which I found particularly refreshing. It was a personal challenge for me to have a front facing shot taken. My face isn’t symmetrical, and my nose and chin are fairly prominent, but Andrej very kindly reminded me that to be a character actress, those particular features are the ones that make me stand out, and could possibly be exactly what a casting director is looking for. What do you love most about your job?
To see the transformation of people in front of my camera from camera-shy, not knowing what to do, to their best versions of themselves for me to capture. It is often a journey to get there as we all are a bit (or more than just a bit!) nervous and self-conscious in front of a camera. But the effort makes it all even better. I coach and guide everyone to make them look competent and yet easy to work with. Confident yet approachable.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've been always fascinated by human face, different features and what they can convey. Merging this with the need to be represented everywhere people cannot be in person, i.e. their headshot photographs, made sense to offer impactful headshots as a service.
Why should our clients choose you?
I take it as my responsibility to make people in front of my lens look like one of the best versions of themselves. I guide and coach them to get there, regardless of how camera-shy they may be or if they don't know what to do. Even if they say that they are not photogenic!
