I found Josh on Instagram and have been following him for a while when I recently finally made the call for Josh’s help with my cockapoo Cooper who was reactive to other dogs and would pull on the lead. Josh set out a plan for 3 x 1-2-1 sessions and 3 x Day Training with coops and the change I have seen in him is amazing, Josh made it seem so easy and guided me on how to read Cooper and what to do in these situations. When I first came across Josh on Instagram, I was a little hesitant because I wasn’t sure if that was the most trustworthy place to find a dog trainer. But after following his videos (which are incredible, by the way), he quickly built trust. We started thinking seriously about reaching out for help with our rescue dog, Miso, who came from Serbia. After a year with her, we knew she could benefit from some structured training and consistency. From the very first conversation, Josh was amazing, sending thoughtful voice notes, taking the time to understand Miso’s background, and clearly explaining how his training could help. Lead walking was one of our biggest struggles. Despite following online tutorials, we just couldn’t give her the same consistency that a residential program could, so we decided on a two-week stay. In the lead-up and throughout her stay, Josh’s communication was brilliant. We received multiple updates and videos each day, with clear explanations of what he was doing, why, and how we should continue the training once she was home. And honestly, the transformation has been incredible. Miso now walks calmly by my side on a loose lead, her recall is fantastic, and she’s thriving with the e-collar training. It’s been a perfect fit given her high prey drive. She now enjoys so much more freedom, and we have the confidence to take her on walks we’d never dared before, even around livestock. To start with, it was really daunting thinking about handing my dog over to a stranger, and it took me a while to pick up the phone. But after my very first conversation with Josh, I just knew he was the perfect match offering a true home-from-home experience and someone I could trust completely. Before training, Winnie had very little confidence, was reactive, and found it hard to trust anyone. From the weeks leading up to residential right through to now, Josh has not only been an incredible trainer but someone I trust deeply. From day one of the three-week programme, I received constant updates, photos, and support, which really helped me prepare to continue the training confidently once Winnie came home. Winnie absolutely adored her time with Josh, and I honestly wouldn’t recommend anyone else for training. She’s been home just under a week now, and the transformation has been unbelievable — she’s now confident, calm, and trusting, with a completely new lease of life. I used to feel anxious going on walks and guilty about leaving her alone — now we can coexist peacefully, and I can take Winnie anywhere without any issues. Of course, there have been a few small teething issues since returning home, but Josh has continued to support us every step of the way. My 18month old Labrador Axel stayed with Josh for two weeks residential training in Sept with focus areas being lead walking, recall, settling & relaxed around distractions. What a job Josh has done with Axel I’m so pleased with what he has learned during his stay. I met Josh before hand to check I felt comfortable, get to know & chat about the training ahead. From the offset Josh was just as hoped and seen online - friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about getting the best out of Axel during his stay so I definitely knew travelling from the other end of country was worth it. Whilst away I got plenty of daily videos, photos & voice notes of how things were going. I was really pleased to see how much Axel progressed so quickly and he looked to be having lots of fun with so many varied places from parks, markets, high street, fields, shops, woodlands doing both individual and group work. We kept regular contact throughout the stay answering any questions I had. Upon picking Axel up Josh went through some drills to continue at home to get the very best outcome. Since Axel has come home I’ve continued working on the focus areas which has drastically improved, lead walking is a breeze now and I use Josh as advice when needed along with showing videos of how well Axel has been doing. I’d definitely recommend Josh as a dog trainer, he’s top tier at what he does and I’ll even look to use him again as I can see how much Axel got out of his residential stay and most importantly really seemed to enjoy himself at the same time. We’d highly recommend Josh at Brand-K9 for residential puppy training. We sent our 6-month-old Pablo for 3 weeks, and the results have been amazing. Josh kept us in the loop with regular updates and followed a clear plan tailored just for Pablo—focusing on cutting down nipping, boosting impulse control, and nailing the basics, especially with resource guarding, which we began having some difficulties with. Pablo’s socialisation has improved massively across different places, and his leash manners are much better, so walks are calmer and more enjoyable. The training helped with his clinginess and built his confidence at home and in new settings. We no longer have to worry about taking him to different environments, and it has already bettered our way of life. Josh has since kept in touch after the program, making sure we still have everything we need to maintain the training. What can i say about Josh and Brand K-9, other than they are absolutely outstanding! After extensive research we decided on Josh to be able to train our 1 year old Cane Corso - we adored the fact that this was residential boarding rather than kennels - as we wanted our girl to be in a home from home environment. From the moment we met Josh we were put completely at ease - his professionalism and quiet air of confidence assures you straight away that you've made the right decision. We booked in for 3 weeks for training for Seffy, and from day dot, the communication and feedback was second to none. 3 weeks was an incredibly long time to be away from Seffy, but with all the updates and communications you felt like you were actually there training with her. Seeing her progress develop over the period of time she was with Josh was truly magical. The amount of love and respect Josh, and his family showed Seffy was unbelievable and just like she was one of his own. I truly could not have wished for a better place for her to stay. Seffy is such a changed Dog and is so much happier after having amazing direction. I cannot recommend Josh highly enough - he is a breath of fresh air in this world of commercialism, who truly cares about every single dog he has in in care, as if they are his own. I cannot thank Josh enough for the incredible work he did with my 12 month old Cavapoo, Mylo. We signed up for a 2 week residential training program, and I am absolutely amazed by the transformation I’ve seen in him. Before starting, Mylo was an energetic, playful, sometimes anxious little guy who struggled with loud noises, being in certain environments, young children, bikes and scooters. Mylo is a completely different dog now! Not only is he more confident and well behaved, but he now walks beautifully on a loose lead, listens attentively, and responds to commands with ease. It’s like he understands me better now, and we communicate so much more effectively. What truly sets Josh apart is his patience, knowledge, and personalised approach. Josh took the time to understand Mylo’s personality and tailored the training to meet his specific needs. The progress we’ve made in such a short time is a testament to Josh’s expertise. My pictures speak for itself…. After a long time of searching looking and reviewing so many reviews I came across Josh, his reels, TikTok and Google reviews doesn’t credit him enough. Leaving Bella with a complete stranger was one of my biggest fears I had to face because I knew she needed residential training than just a normal Dog Trainer. After speaking with Josh and having a few conversations, I already knew Josh was the person to train Bella and to become her personal trainer. Throughout her Time with Josh, there was ridiculous amount of communication throughout the whole two weeks that he had Bella. This was through WhatsApp FaceTime phone calls and also Mainy on his social media as well, which I got to see every day. As most of you guys may know especially people who own cocker spaniels they are absolutely hard work, She was Crazy on on lead walking she had no form of commands no form of social awareness and especially no Stay positions. Literally after a few hours, Josh already sent me a video Bella walking calmly on a lead for me this was just amazing to see in the space of a few hours the impact he already had on her. I don’t really know how much more I can credit Josh and thank Josh for everything that he’s physically done mentally emotionally physically, but he’s made such a big difference in our life and in Bella’s life and we would always be so grateful for that. Whoever may read this review I can honestly say hand on heart to Josh. It’s not just about the money he generally does it because he cares and he loves what he does. We couldn’t recommend Brand K-9 Dog Training more highly! Our dog Kobi spent just over two weeks with Josh while we were away on holiday. Although it felt daunting leaving him with someone new, Josh instantly put us at ease. He kept in touch every single day with photos, videos, and voice notes, so we could see Kobi’s progress and know he was happy and well cared for. Kobi even celebrated his first birthday while with Josh, and it was so thoughtful of him to make sure the day was special. In terms of training, we noticed a real difference—especially with Kobi’s recall and lead walking. The handover was excellent; Josh took plenty of time to walk us through everything so we felt prepared to continue at home. We sent our Parson Russell Terrier for a 2-week residential stay with Josh at Brand K-9, and we honestly couldn’t recommend him highly enough! What can I say about Josh, he has been fantastic in every way ever since my initial enquiry about residential training. He has been kind, friendly and accommodating. My 13 month old Labrador has been a challenge but Josh rose to it and dealt with him brilliantly during his 2 week residential. I cannot recommend K-9 Training and the trainer Josh enough. My dog is a different dog after the interventions he has made. Ebony was a nightmare if she saw other dogs she would bark and look aggressive. She just needed expert socialising. Now she can walk alongside me and not get concerned when other dogs are near. She walks with the pack when Josh takes her training, loving the walks with her new friends. This has made such a difference when taking her out with us. Visiting family who have dogs she loves it. I used to dread taking her out. Now it’s a pleasure. Josh has helped me understand how she communicates, hints and tips along the way has been amazing. She also stays with him when we go on holiday. Josh has given us the life we always dreamed of with our dog. We got Milo at about 5 months, a rescue from Cyprus. He’s the most amazing, happy, loyal family dog. But he pulled so badly on the lead, he even pulled me over one day. And the few times we attempted off lead, he’d just run and not come back! It was stopping us from enjoying all the things we love like long hikes, camping, and days out sightseeing and pub lunches or cafe visits. We were so worried about sending him away, I even cancelled once before. But handing Milo over to Josh was the best decision we ever made. Instantly we knew Milo was in the very capable and caring hands of someone who loved dogs and understood them. We were constantly kept up to date and amazed by the quick progress he was making. We could tell through the videos Milo was happy and having a great time. Josh’s three dogs were incredibly patient and accepting of Milo into their pack. We got Milo back today and he’s a different dog. So calm in himself, settling so much more easily. And his lead walking skills…just wow! He’s an absolute dream to walk! And we had him off lead on a 5km walk today with him happily trotting back and forth, never once did we fear he was about to bolt! We can’t praise Josh enough for the incredible work he did with our dog, Reggie. The difference in Reggie’s behavior since his training is already so clear — he’s more focused, responsive, and confident, and it’s all thanks to Josh’s thoughtful, consistent approach. One of the things we appreciated most were the instructional videos Josh sent us. They’ve made it so much easier to continue reinforcing Reggie’s training now that he’s home, and gave us the confidence to carry things forward. On top of that, getting regular updates on what Reggie was up to during the day — whether it was training, adventuring, or just having fun — meant so much. Josh what can I say! This man was brilliant with my Mali! She was dog reactive. (or so we thought) we thought she’d be dreadful with other dogs yet within 1 day she was playing and fitting right in with the pack! She now has decent recall, so much more confidence in her self, walks well on a lead, ecollar trained and so much more! She also now loves water, when she was scared before. It’s hard to know where to start with this review, because it feels strongly like I’ll never be eloquent enough to do Josh justice, but I will give it a go. If you take nothing else away from this, take away that you’ll not find a more skilled, genuine, ethical, professional and determined dog trainer anywhere. Josh is honestly a superstar. A very lovely fella who is kind and genuine, you can tell from the offset that he knows what he’s doing and he seriously loves his work. You know, the sort of love for your work that most people dream about as kids but rarely ever achieve. The epitome of loving your job so you don’t work a day, though you know he works really hard. I recommend Brand K-9 to anyone I chat about dogs with, my beautiful husky Maia, arrived at my door being incredibly loving and sweet but quite nervous of other dogs and very wary of men. I have long Covid and I don’t have the energy to be chasing Maia down the street should she Houdini out of the garden, so recall had to be on.point. Now she walks with Josh and the pack off lead with no concerns that she won’t come back when called, and she’s as good as gold when out with me. Maia walks with me, not against me, she’s had the full exposure training of busy places, other animals, noisy places and is learning to control her prey drive, amongst so many other things. I knew what I hoped for when finding a trainer and Josh continues to excel well beyond expectations. I cannot recommend his services enough. From serious aggression levels to anxiety, old dogs and pups, it seems there is nothing this man cannot achieve. I don’t leave reviews all that often, but when I do, I mean every word. I cannot recommend Josh enough! My partner and I booked a 1-2-1 session with Josh to help us with our reactive and nervous dog. Josh was absolutely brilliant and our dog warmed to him quickly (which is rare). Not only did he help with training our dog, he trained us! I’ve spoken to many dog trainers in the past and all have offered a course which we have done before but I learnt more in a 1-2-1 with Josh than I did in a six week course. We’ve changed so much at home and what we do with our dog and we saw a change in less than 24 hours. We still have a long way to go with our dog, but thanks to Josh we feel so much more confident with our dog and understand what to do to get to where we want to be! Thank you!! Update: we have since taken our dog to day training where Josh took him out for the day. It’s hard as a dog owner trusting someone else with your dog but I have felt so at ease and the change is beyond expectations. I got in touch with Josh because he was recommended to me by loads of people on the cockapoo website on Facebook. He got in touch almost straight away and asked me some info on Alfie even sent me a voice message on WhatsApp. It was great to hear some good feed back. After research I found out that Josh was actually from Essex which me living in Maltby Rotherham that was kind of not going to work however when I let him know this he was still willing to help me out and never said no instead he contacted me today by phone had a good 10 mins chat with me giving me some fantastic advise regarding training which I am currently doing and it’s been the best advice I could have received, even sent me a link through with some good stuff on it and I am amazed. At end of phone call he even said he would set me a programme to follow so that we could all stick with it and see how we go, so all in all I have to say his advise is unreal, he will go out of his way to help you out and it felt like if you needed to talk to him or ask anything he was gonna be there. We met Josh yesterday at his training site, and introduced our boxer boys, Hank and Marvin. We needed lots if help with our 18 month old Hank as he was not raised in a litter and increasingly anxious around other dogs and strangers. We had a valuable 121 session and Josh was able to calm Hank completely, teaching us with his extensive experience. We were able to walk both boys without pulling, and they were introduced to a couple of Josh's trainer dogs with great success. Alfie is a Labrador cross so is a fairy big and strong dog which can mean that at times he has pulled on the lead or reacted to other dogs he is nervous of. We had lots of practice of the techniques, and have come away with loads more confidence on how to walk on lead nicely with Alfie. We needed some help understanding Luna’s behaviour. Shes a rescued husky/Alsatian. Shes 11 years old, anxious and reactive with other dogs on walks. It was a great communication with Josh and clear instructions to his private closed off field. We had a 1-1 session, Josh was very kind and professional throughout and we learnt what to do on walks to keep everything calm and happy for her. She was immediately calmer when he had 2 other dogs out, after the adjustments she was focused and calm with us even when the dog was close! We will be keeping up the training of course and have lots of good information from the session. Luna will be coming back for a pack walk for sure, Thanks Josh! Our german shepherd dog had his first training session today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Josh was brilliant , he kept us up to date throughout the whole day sending us progress photos and videos. We cant wait for our dog to have many more training sessions. Today he learned good recall, loose lead walking and lots of socialisation with other dogs! My nearly 2-year-old Maltipoo and I had the pleasure of a session with Josh. My pup struggles with reactivity to other dogs, especially black ones. During the session, Josh shared valuable insights that allowed her to calmly walk past his Cockapoo while on the lead, and even remain composed near his striking black German Shepherds.
