My partner and myself got married at Maes Manor Hotel on Thursday 16th October 2025, we hired Alex and Steve to do all our photography. I highly recommend them 100%, absolutely fantastic. Alex and Steve spent all day with us and most of the evening, I felt so relaxed with them both, I felt as though I'd known them years. They're both so friendly, happy, polite, fun and very professional. My husband and myself thoroughly enjoyed their company and all my guests said how professional they are. By Saturday we had already received our quick glance of the photos which are amazing quality, all shots look so natural, honestly they can't do anymore than they did. We spent 6 months looking for the right photographers and as soon as we came across Alex and Steve, we knew their style was exactly what we were after. When we first spoke to Alex over Zoom, we immediately felt at ease – he was so genuine, friendly and easy-going, which gave us complete confidence in choosing them for our day. On the day itself, they were fantastic. Both Alex and Steve made our guests feel completely comfortable, always polite and engaging in conversation, which really added to the relaxed atmosphere. This fantastic father son duo saved my wedding day. A few days before our wedding the original photographer cancelled on us, so in a mad panic I called any and every number I could find on google. Right from the start of the phone call Alex made us feel at ease, and reassured us that together with Steve they would put something together to help us out. With only a few days notice, no meeting in person, no discussion of shot lists or prior planning Alex and Steve turned up, took charge and absolutely smashed it. Being a father and son team they worked together flawlessly, bounced of each other and really made the day flow smoothly. Many of the guests and hotel staff commented on how fantastic Alex and Steve were. My father isn’t easy to please, but ten minutes after Alex and Steve arrived at the house, I had a text from him that simply said “these guys are good. We couldn’t be happier with our experience working with Bowden’s Photography – Alex and Steve – they were absolutely fantastic from start to finish! We had two phone calls with Alex prior to the big day which gave us opportunity to run through what the day would be like and what we could expect.

Alex took care of all the staged and group photos with such calm professionalism, making everyone feel comfortable and relaxed (even the camera-shy guests!). Meanwhile, Steve was brilliant at capturing those candid, natural moments and beautiful solo shots of our guests – many of which we didn’t even realise were being taken at the time!

Together, they made the perfect team – seamlessly capturing every angle of our day. They also worked brilliantly with our videographer, which made the whole experience feel effortless and smooth. They were both attentive and were amazing when taking photographs of our dog.

Where do I begin, from the get go I knew from our first phone call that Alex understood what we wanted from our wedding photos and what he would capture on the day. Alex and Steve are such lovely guys, nothing seemed too much to ask for, from them. They were so accommodating to us and how the day was running, they were able to liaise with the venue to plan around the day when we were going to do photos, considering that timings changed. Alex went above and beyond, and even got my lipstick for me as he was going to the bridal suit to get a piece of his kit. We hired Bowden Photography, Alex and Steve for our 21st July 2023 wedding in South Wales.
Prior to the big day, we spoke with Alex a few times over the phone.
From the off, it was clear that Bowden’s photography were absolute professionals.
Their attention to detail was second to none.
We gave Alex some ideas of photos we would like, and he gave us some of his ideas.
On the day, Alex attended our home where my wife was getting ready, while Steve attended my Mother’s, where I was.
Together, they not only settled our nerves but captured some of the most beautiful pre wedding shots.
Steve was amazing with our kids, making them feel as special as we felt. They loved their own photoshoots.
Alex, too, was brilliant throughout the morning.
Throughout the ceremony, reception and evening, they remained constant, but in the background. At no time did we feel that Alex or Steve were in the way. That takes something special, considering how many photos we have.
Their attention to detail, professionalism and the fact that they are genuinely nice people, make Bowden’s photography a must for anyone considering having a photographer for their big day.
We are totally blown away with how amazing our photographs are. They are perfect.
It’s always a worry that a photographer may not be up to scratch, as your wedding cannot be recreated, but trust us, Bowden’s are amazing. The quality and beauty of the photos are breathtaking. We are so, so pleased that we chose them.
