Ruslan and his team have done several jobs in our house. Most recently they fitted our kitchen and have really done an excellent job. This included laying new engineered wood floors, repainting, adding lights into the ceiling, creating new electric outlets and then finally fitting the kitchen. The crew have worked 10 hour days consistently to get our kitchen done after having terrible delays from Wren. This included bank holidays and weekends! The service provided by Bily Renovation Painting and Decorating was excellent. They painted all the walls, ceilings and woodwork in a three bedroom flat with two bathrooms, in Edinburgh. The customer left all the furniture in position and the paintings were left on the walls. The team moved all the furniture and paintings and replaced them at the end of the job. Ruslan and his team did a superb job from the beginning, giving us a good quote and a starting a big job very quickly. They stripped the layers of wallpaper off from all the walls - which was a process that cost a little more than just painting over the wallpaper - but we’re so glad we did that, as the final result was really great, as Ruslan promised and gave the flat a real “wow” factor. The kitchen and bathroom (we asked for quite a complicated design on the bathroom, including new wooden panelling) also both look fantastic. Over the course of the work Ruslan was always available on the phone or in person and he was really pleasant to work with. And his team were also great, the two Sasha’s doing a number of additional last minute jobs like moving radiators, changing light fixtures and reinstalling another induction hob after the first model we bought was faulty. Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ruslan and his talented team for any work you might be thinking of doing. As other reviews have noted, Ruslan is one of the good guys. 5-Star Basement Renovation – Highly Recommended Ruslan and his team transformed our cold, damp basement room into a warm, welcoming space for our staff – and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From the beginning, Ruslan was polite, friendly, and professional. He came out promptly to provide a quote and followed up with a detailed breakdown within a few days. After meeting with around 10 different builders, we chose Ruslan based on the many positive reviews and his reassuring approach. Choosing a builder had been difficult for me, especially given past bad experiences, but Ruslan quickly put my mind at ease. One of the things that really stood out was Ruslan’s excellent communication. He always got back to us quickly, kept us informed at every stage, and made sure we understood what was happening — especially when unexpected issues came up. The work began the following week. Two members of his team handled the bulk of the job and worked incredibly hard every day – especially given the challenge of carrying all materials down into the basement. Ruslan took care of sourcing all the core materials, while I ordered items like the doors, toilet suite, light switches, and sockets. He was extremely helpful throughout, advising me on exactly what to get. During the renovation, the team uncovered an issue with the ceiling due to a previous water leak. While this added some cost, Ruslan communicated everything clearly and made sure we understood what was needed. I felt confident that the job was being done properly, with a focus on long-term quality. The renovation took around five weeks in total, and Ruslan returned afterward to take care of a few minor snagging items – though there wasn’t much at all. I also really appreciated that he encouraged us to contact him with any future concerns, which can sometimes feel awkward with tradespeople. Another huge plus was how they worked around our café’s hours – locking up each evening after we had left, and causing no disruption to the business throughout the whole project. Overall, I would highly recommend Ruslan and his team. Their work is top-quality, fairly priced, and carried out with great care and professionalism. Bily Renovation removed wallpaper, rendered our walls and ceilings and painted everything in our Edinburgh flat. It was a difficult project, with high ceilings, multiple layers of historic wallpaper, and walls in a delicate state. But Ruslan and his team did a fantastic job, remaining sensitive to the historic character and keeping us informed closely throughout. Total 5 star experience. Ruslan and his team came over to do our front wall re-render and painting and they did an incredible job. The team came recommended from a friend and Ruslan communicated super clearly through the whole process and listened to everything we were looking for. The quote was also super fair after we had received some extortionate prices from competitors. Bily Renovation recently renovated and decorated our flat in Edinburgh’s New Town, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From our first meeting and estimate, communication was excellent throughout. Ruslan suggested setting up a WhatsApp group early on, which proved invaluable. Even though his team speaks limited English, this was never an issue—Ruslan kept us updated daily with messages and photos, especially when we weren’t able to be on site. The quality of the workmanship and finish exceeded our expectations, even in the face of unexpected complications. When removing the wallpaper revealed hidden mould, Ruslan dealt with it calmly, thoughtfully, and efficiently. He provided a fair estimate for the additional work and kept everything on track. The renovation included extensive plastering, and the preparation and painting of woodwork, ceilings, and walls throughout the flat. We were particularly impressed by how seamlessly they blended new cornicing with the original—no easy task, as an exact match wasn’t possible. The plastering work deserves special mention, showcasing a level of craftsmanship we understand to be influenced by traditional Ukrainian techniques. We were so confident in their work that, a few weeks later, we asked them to re-tile the hall floor. This too was completed with the same precision and care. Our only small criticism—one we discussed with Ruslan—was that more care could have been taken to cover furniture and floors during the plastering stage. That said, we’re confident this feedback has been taken on board for future projects. Well done to Ruslan and the whole team—we’d gladly recommend them and look forward to working with them again. Unwillingly, thanks to Wren kitchen supplier's mistakes, we ended up being a bit of a challenging client, and our project ended up taking a whole month to finish. But Ruslan and Alex were absolute pros—super patient, professional, and caring. They fit us into their busy schedule and worked around all the changes. They even saved my favorite tiles and the wallpaper! The quality of the installation was top-notch. They worked quickly, and if our deliveries had been on time, the whole kitchen would've been done in just a few days.
