About
I am a GSRD (Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity) affirming therapist. If moving positively forwards in your life seems to be impossible, or overwhelming, it can be enormously helpful to engage with a therapist who is the right 'fit' for you.
I have been working with clients since 2017, and it is my experience that whether life feels stressful, confusing, challenging, painful, or disappointing and pointless, it is worth taking that important step to looking after your self, and finding a therapist who provides a setting in which to explore your challenges. I offer a sensitive, aware, and GSRD positive space and have worked psychotherapeutically with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, unhealthy relationship patterns, chronic limiting behaviours such as procrastination and self harm, or eating disorders. Each client brings their own unique experience, and I do not apply a 'formula' to how I work with you, but meet you where you are and am alongside you in where you would like to be.
Recent feedback for my work:
“During a turbulent time in my life with increased anxiety, Anna really listened to me and was very intuitive to really understanding my concerns. Anna gave me the support and space to move forward and I would encourage anyone to have the strength and courage to move forward with Anna’s help.” Anonymous, Cirencester
I welcome you in all your diversity, and offer you the opportunity to meet me as yourself, to express yourself free from judgement, and alongside you I believe I can help you to re-engage with a life that is yours to be lived, consciously.
I am a qualified counsellor, working one to one with adults, and am an accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy as well as a member of the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling, whose ethical frameworks I commit to in my work.
The next steps
You may feel worried about where to start, or even if you really ‘deserve’ to focus on yourself. It is quite common to feel stuck, either lacking support or even when surrounded by kind offers of help from friends and family, as sometimes the closeness can feel limiting, but learning to manage your life and feelings without others’ expectations can be very rewarding and fruitful. The first step to look for a counsellor can take courage - I offer a brief phone call so that you can get a sense of me, followed by an initial meeting for £30. Thereafter sessions are £60.
