Just had a L shaped dormer loft conversion completed. The process was very clearly explained upfront: Absolute assign a building team to carry out work that they have costed up and you deal with them directly as opposed to Absolute actually doing the work). However they stay involved and check on progress throughout. I was assigned Sean and his team who were very professional, thorough and good-natured . They turned up every day on the dot of 7.30 and were done by 3pm which was perfect. They were so quick and efficient that sometimes I was the one holding up process by not making decisions quickly enough so make sure you can keep pace with them by having your design choices already decided where possible! The associated tradesmen I needed (Plumber, electrician, decorator, roofer, tiler, Leather restorer) were all supplied/recommended by Sean and were great. Ian, Tony and Cassie in the Absolute office were always very helpful and polite. Costs were clearly laid out - only additional cost I had was that roof tiles were found to be brittle and not really fit for purpose which can really only come to light when they are up and working on roof so maybe budget for this eventuality on top. We would recommend Absolute Lofts without hesitation. A professional job from start to finish. The sales pitch to begin with was very good but without the waffle that you tend to get with such meetings. Emails and phone calls always dealt with professionally and promptly. As for the build, we mainly had Gus, Vic, Jimmy and Ricky. They were all absolute stars. Hard working, professional and very respectful of our personal space whilst working on the loft. If you want a Loft Conversion in London think twice before going with Absolute Lofts. Be aware that you don't pay Absolute to do the job, you pay the builder that they sell the job to. Therefore the quality of your job will vary depending on who they give you.
I got a guy called Mark Aimes. Request that you do not get this builder. This man should not be allowed to handle client money. For my loft conversion I had to transfer different amounts of money to 12 (twelve!) different bank accounts including £12,283 to the account of Kim Aimes (I’m guessing this is Marks wife) I also HAD TO make 2 payments in cash. I have requested invoices and receipts, yet I have been refused them by the builder Mark Aimes.

This is very dodgy. It comes across like Absolute or Mark Aimes are trying to avoid paying tax and or VAT. Why else would I be made to pay over £12k to the wife of the builder and not be given a receipt of invoice for the work? This is very disconcerting for the client. You don’t know where you money is going or if your payments are protected.

Furthermore I found Mark Aimes and his gang to be very rude, to be quite intimidating and to constantly lie. On top of this they will really try and push you, and persuade you to give them more work and not via Absolute. I was told things like, 'Next loft you do call me direct it will be much cheaper than Absolute'. Again, for the customer this does not give you much confidence.

I would only use Absolute Lofts again if:
1. I could pay one bank account only
2. Absolute and the builder provide me with receipts / invoices as requested
3. I was to meet the person who is actually going to build the loft

The back end staff in the office, and Ian the salesman are nice people hence why I have given 2 stars, rather than 1. A suggestion to the Absolute team; take more care on who you outsource your work to! More...

We had an extremely positive experience with Absolute Lofts. They helped us from the start, with lots of guidance and support. In particular I would like to say a special thank you to Jamie, the foreman. He ran the job on time, on budget and was an excellent communicator. He always sought out our thoughts and gave us options along the way. He could not have been more helpful. I should also point out that at the time of the build we had a young baby and the whole team made every effort wherever possible to reduce noise and dust. They were all incredibly considerate. We did a lot of research and obtained multiple quotes before contracting Absolute Lofts for our conversion, being more concerned about prior good feedback and a quality job than getting the cheapest price. Mark Aimes and his crew (Mike, Jack, and several other tradesmen for different aspects of the work) completed the build in about 5 weeks, and that’s factoring in a week of torrential rain. We genuinely missed the guys when they were gone, despite being very happy with the end result! We’ve effectively doubled our floor space and would wholeheartedly recommend an Absolute Lofts conversion for anyone in London who needs more space. More...

We were really pleased with the service from Absoulute Lofts. We had Mark Aimes as our builder. Mark worked quickly and coordinated all the trades really well. His team were punctual and polite, and happy to answer our questions as we went along. Absolute were available throughout the process and were prompt in answering our questions. Absolute checked the loft at the end of the build and made sure the work was finished to high standard. Absolute Lofts were courteous, professional, respected our home and were great value for money. We are really pleased with the quality of work on our new loft conversion along with other house improvements they were able to accomodate.

Darren was the project manager and gave invaluable advice to us on our build. His team were flexible and no job was too big or small. The assembled team were all craftsmen and they took real pride in their work and as a result, it shows in the finished job.

We would most certainly recommend Absolute Lofts. They completed the work to an excellent standard at a great price. As a result, we were able to commission Darren and his team to undertake additional refurbishment work on our property.

Just had a loft conversion by Absolute Lofts and they have been superb from start to finish. The quote was very thorough and all extras spelt out to us so knew exactly what to expect, the sales team very knowledgeable and provided great confidence they knew what they were doing. The office team very friendly to contact as well and respond quickly to any queries we had. The plans, application & building control was all taken care of, we didn’t have to do a thing thing. The build itself was excellently handled by Jon Fuller and his team. Jon was amazing, onsite a lot & took the time to keep us up to date and involved in all decisions. We had a newborn baby so he & the team made sure disruptions were to a minimum and the project not to overrun. All his team were very professional and hard working and very respectful of house and trying to keep it as clean as poss. We have just finished our loft extension with absolute lofts and we had Jon Fuller and his team doing the job. We had it basically built in about a week and the whole thing finished within 7 weeks. Jon and his team were quick and efficient and we were impressed at how tidy they worked (things like protecting the carpets and floors and Jon's son meticulously hoovering every tiny nook and cranny when they broke through). Considering what a big job it was it all went very smoothly (just a leaking toilet issue and a few other issues here and there but to be expected). Jon was very easy to get hold of at anytime and we never had an issue getting something rectified if we needed it sorting out. Thanks to Jon for being understandable and getting the job done quickly and efficiently and we now need to restock our coffee supply (Jon is happy if he's got his coffee!). Thanks again. We would also like to give a commendation to the roofers (Mead and Jack) who did a fine job with the roof, they were very professional and take great pride in their work. In summary the result of Jon and his team's work is a lovely, well built loft space which we will cherish for years to come.

Tip: make sure you budget for anything that may crop up as extra during the build that needs to be sorted separately (we had a few extra things we needed to do with the roof etc). More...

Jon and his team were a pleasure to deal with and have done a fantastic job. We had to replace our old and leaking butterfly roof to our Victorian terraced house in Putney and decided to take the opportunity to create a new level of space by means of a front and rear l-shape mansard extension. They have completed the works to a very high standard, and also within the 10 weeks promised despite accomodating a number of changes and additions which we had requested. This was particularly important for us to minimise disruptions to our neighbours and ensure the works were completed before we disappeared off for our wedding and honeymoon. We have a terraced house in Walthamstow and needed at least one extra bedroom for our growing family.
Did some research on line and invited four companies to give us some advice and provide quotations.
One company stated that they only did quotes between 9 and 5 and could I take some time off work to see them. That brought it down to three companies !
We were advised (by all three companies) that we could complete a L shape former using our permitted development rights.
Company number 1 turned up with just a notepad and pen and were there for less than 10 minutes.
Company number 2 were a little bit more on the ball but did not discuss things like party wall agreements or fire regulations.
Absolute (as it turned out) had done quite a few jobs locally to us, showed us suggestions for floor plans and photographs of completed projects.
They suggested we visit a completed job to find out just what sort of space we could achieve (2 beds and a shower room).
Whilst they were a little more expensive than the other quotes we had we felt a little more assured by what their customers had fed back to us.
Gus and his team were easy to deal with and would thoroughly recommend Absolute Lofts.
Make sure you budget for some extras though. Our fuse board had to be replaced (it was very old !) and we also had to replace our boiler. More...

Shelley is still manning the emails and it was very reassuring to see she's still there and to have a response and the docs I needed to boot....within hours and after working hours! The best building experience by far! They come highly recommended

When you are about to embark on major building construction you want a company that have an abundance of experience and knowledge who can deliver a first class service that is reliable from the moment you contact them. Absolute lofts have been amazing in what has been a journey for us, they have guided us through the process every step of the way and took a considerable amount of stress away from us from beginning to end. My sincere thanks to Shelley for her support from the start, to the amazing builders Jon Fuller and his team and all the staff on hand at Absolute lofts.
Absolute lofts were competitive in price but most importantly professional from start to finish. The entire conversion took less than 2 months to complete and I know for a fact that their aftercare is just as good as when they first meet you to discuss the work. I can honestly say I am not one to write reviews, but Absolute lofts deserve nothing less than 5 stars as they delivered exactly what we the customer wanted.

We had our loft conversion carried out by Absolute Lofts recently and can highly recommend them. We had 5 companies visit us to bid for the project and we found Absolute to be the most professional. They were not the cheapest nor the most expensive but we got a good feeling from the initial consultation. My wife was pregnant at the time and we wanted to get the loft conversion done before the baby arrived. Absolute were very accommodating and even managed to pull-in the start date so they would be finished before baby arrived. They finished on time with no hidden costs. Everything was covered from design with professional architects, inspection through to construction and certification. During the build the Mick and his team were friendly, competent, polite and even made suggestions on the layout and windows to maximise the loft space and head height. We highly recommend Absolute Lofts. Why? They oversaw the whole process in a very professional manner. All of the early legal and administrative details were handled by Absolute Lofts, which for busy professionals just made the whole process so easy. Our main reason for going with Absolute Lofts was because of their reassurance that the whole build process could be completed swiftly and to a high standard. They kept their word and caused our family of 5 minimal disruption. Denis, the project manager, and his build team were polite, friendly and consulted us at every stage. Whenever we needed advice they would inform us of our options and any related design and cost implications.
The high quality finishing from the external tiling to the internal carpentry and plastering puts Absolute Lofts in a class of their own. • I’ve wanted a loft conversion on my house for some years now but never really found the right time or right company. I had seen Absolute Lofts doing quite a few conversions round my area, so after asking my neighbours what they thought of them and their work and hearing only good things I gave them a call. Absolute Lofts were great from the onset and we really collaborated well with the designs and paperwork; clear communication was something I was adamant on, but honestly Absolute Lofts were excellent the whole way through. The fitting team arrived no later than 8.30am each day, they were courteous and nothing was to much trouble even when we changed our minds through the build.
