I started working out at Rebel several years ago based upon the recommendation of a friend. That was a turning point in how I looked at fitness! Chris and Aaron provide a friendly and safe environment from which you can improve from any fitness level. From the beginning, there is an emphasis on proper form in all movements. Even in the group classes they take the time to ensure everyone is practicing in a manner to protect themselves from injury. Whether in a class or a personal session, they are able to adapt and modify the exercises to meet any challenges their clients have. Also their classes and tips on how to improve flexibility and mobility have saved me from many a painful day. During a year long cancer battle I continued to workout on a weekly basis with Chris because he was able to adapt the intensity to my current fitness level. I highly recommend Rebel for both the personal sessions and group classes. They have created a great community that supports one another.
We offer guided strength & conditioning classes using a variety of routines and a large variety of strength training and cardiovascular equipment. Our classes are flexible and are open to any client. Class sizes average 6 to 8 clients but with a two-trainer team, the client to trainer ratio is optimized. .
When I saw the sign board out front that said "Strong IsThe New Skinny" I knew this place was going to be different. Jeff and Linda genuinely care about the well being of their members/pupils. Dojo 3 has some of the best dance instructors anywhere. Nave, Quande, Joy, Tryst, Allison, Maria, Vickie, Candy...just to name a few. I take as many classes during the week as I can fit into my schedule, and I am never disappointed!
My beloved gym closed in September. This statement is huge coming from me, because working out is at the top of my "hate" list. I didn't think I'd ever find another gym with a coach who could motivate me (and put up with me) and a community that would be as loving, fun and accepting as where I'd come from.
Well, color me wrong. I started trying out different gyms in the area and when I attended a class at Impact Strength and Performance, I knew I'd found my new home.
The classes are super challenging but the environment is one of fun. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The owner, Drew, is my kind of people. He takes fitness and health very seriously...but not so seriously that he can't joke, laugh and have fun with us.
Drew is very in tuned to everyone's needs. He's encouraging and pushes you to do more, but never in a "drill sergeant" type of way. This gym is a hidden gem. You'll get a fantastic workout and a supportive, fun community to go with it. I highly recommend them!
Highly recommed this gym..they really care about your health and weight goals...the owner is super nice and his trainers are awesome..its not like other gyms..no flirting or snickering...very caring and down to earth..the dont just want sales..they are not pushy...they currently have a killer groupon deal..your choice of classes...always greeted with a smile and looking very professional to the environment. . If you're looking to go to the gym simply to tell others you have a gym membership, this place is not for you. If you're looking for a long lasting support system and legit workouts that are going to improve your overall strength and wellness, then head directly there now. Matt and Kyle know what they're doing and know how to get results. The work will be hard. But it will also be fun. And, most of all, it will work. Without the fancy gimmicks. Or the overuse of machines. Or the fads. But with the basics that have proven to work time and time again.

Kendall is my personal trainer and he is awesome!!! I am in the early stages of early onset Parkinson's and am 52 years old. Kendall has been training me once a week since August. He is the perfect combination of tough but encouraging. He has spent the time to educate himself on my particular condition. He knows his stuff. He arrives promptly on time at my house once a week with a workout fully prepared. If need be, he can easily adjust the workout on the fly if I have pain or an injury in a particular part of my body.
What stands out most for me about Kendall is that he has taught me that I shouldn't avoid working a part of your body because you might have/had an injury there. For example, I have had problems with one knee for years. When he first started working with me, I kept saying I can't do that exercise because of my knee. He would say we need to work with what you have and strengthen the muscles around it to make you stronger. We don't avoid it, we modify the exercises to make it work. It has taken some time but my knee is so much better than it has been in years and I'm using it, not babying it. Exercising is very important if you have Parkinson's and Kendall has made me much stronger and I feel better. I enjoy the workouts even if they are hard. I'm sticking with it and Kendall is a big reason why I keep at it.
I have been so happy with him, and talking about him with my friends, that one of them has started attending my training sessions with Kendall. She is in much better shape than I and doesn't have Parkinson's. He has adjusted the workouts so that they are challenging for her but also still work well for me. In addition its fun to have a friend to work out with.
Kendall comes to us for personal training but I know there are personal and group classes at his gym. Check it out. Its been awesome for me.

Being a coach here, I can honestly say that the programming is very well thought out with an emphasis on quality as well as having a great workout and a generally fun hour of your day. If you've got a strong fitness background you'll fit in with those who like to push, and if this is completely new, there will be others in class also just trying to get and stay healthy.
Zach is simply the best! Professional, no-nonsense, and the perfect mix of understanding and tough when it comes to testing what's possible during a workout. I have been going to DM Athletes for over 2 years and I have become so much stronger and leaner. He is upbeat and fun, and then serious when he needs to be. When I started with him 2 years ago I couldn't even do a push-up...now I'm doing lots of them and my form is tight. We do assessments and discuss what our goals are...a true team effort.

When I started working with Chad at age sixty, my goal was to gain strength and stay active the rest of my life. Having done lots of group classes and exercise machines, free weights were a real challenge for me. With Chad's patience and encouragement I have achieved my goals, but it is an ongoing process. I have been training with Anthony at Body Transformations in Bellevue for almost a year. Anthony’s knowledge, professionalism and dedication to his profession are very evident in everything he does. He considers himself far more than just a trainer, he is a life coach. As such, he coaches his clients on diet, stress levels, how to make healthier choices, nutrition, supplements and so much more. One of his favorite phrases is “We are looking for progression, not perfection.”. He helps you measure your results in inches and body fat percentage and weight, although weight is really just a tool he uses to track your body fat. The exercise method Anthony uses is the FMS – Functional Movement System, it is not the traditional method that you would see in most Gyms. It is unique and highly effective method of exercising that uses movement, with balance and core strength in a way that gives you a total body workout, quickly increasing your strength, mobility and flexibility! Another notable thing about Anthony and the way he works with you is that he loves a challenge. If you are currently unable to do an exercise using one method, he always has a solution that will “customize” the exercise in a way that enables you to do it correctly and effectively, even when you have a limiting factor. If you are looking for a personal trainer, take the time to meet Anthony and allow him to show you his state of the art facility and what he has to offer. You will be very happy that you did.
When I started training with Curt I was looking for a strength trainer in the south end to help me cross-train for cycling. It's been about a year since I started and I can't imagine what I must have felt like before. I've got so much more than I imagined from coming here. Yeah, I'm a bit faster on the bike, but I'm also more flexible and more agile. Curt is an observant trainer - and tailors each workout to the individual. His combination of movement and equipment is something very unique and never feels the same. This practice, in a matter of months, has made me a more capable human.Highly recommended.
I've been training with Neil for over two years now and I've enjoyed every single session! Neil is a great guy to work with. He's very knowledgeable, completely professional and at the same time relaxed and friendly. When I first met Neil he spent the time to discuss what my fitness goals were and what style of training I wanted to do. He offers general fitness training (weights etc.) and specific boxing coaching. I wanted to learn how to box so we decided to train twice a week and he started teaching me the basics. When I felt comfortable to get in the ring with some of his other clients, he started organizing sparring sessions for me as well and I'm proud to say that with his coaching, I'm able to hold my own in these sessions. Plus I've gotten fitter and healthier and that's why I continue to train with him.
Wonderful gym! I show up, follow directions, listen to music for grown ups, and leave having done a great strength/cardio interval circuit. Good variety of times offered. Great vibe. People are very encouraging.

I have been at slate for 2 years. It's out of my way but I'm still here because I love this place! I've been to quite a few boxes. Slate has an awesome layout + space, and the community here is genuinely welcoming and supportive.
Amazing insight into the training from collegiate athletes that have gone through what I have, and more. The amount of knowledge I have learned within less than a month of training is tremendous, outstanding program!

Dr. Patti, as she is known to her patients, is an exceptional Naturopathic Doctor. She has improved my health and stress level through natural supplements. Through a series of questions, she was able to ascertain that my body does not handle sugars well and suggested a specific diet change to offset this issue. She was also available in the middle of the night when I had a severe kidney infection and needed antibiotics. Dr. Patti was the doctor for the Olympic team and understands what is needed to obtain and retain optimum health. Dr. Patti provides me with B-12 injections which boost my immunity. I truly hate needles, but these injections are virtually painless. This creates a significant difference in my energy and ability to ward off illnesses. I highly recommend Dr. Patti Mullen.

Lynn is a supportive personal trainer who listens to what your goals are and tailors your training according to your needs. Lynn works with the whole person and is a very strong nutritionist. She is accommodating, encouraging and really cares about her clients. Not only is Lynn knowledgeable and experienced, she practices what she preaches.

Edge Fitness is great! It’s a small-group fitness facility run by Amanda Salazar. The trainers at Edge know how to get your body moving! Workouts are 1 hour and each day brings new surprises that focus on all parts of the body: upper body, lower body, abs – you name it, and they’ve got you covered. I really like the variety of workouts and the fun spin they put on everything. If you’re looking for a fun, challenging way to get in shape or maintain your fitness, Edge is the place to go. Great group of trainers and clients who enjoy being there!
Michelle is the very best! She stood by my side while loosing many pounds, inspiring me to not only become more active, but to become a good athlete. You can choose all sorts of weight loss programs, however the personal care Michelle provides will create more weight loss success than any other "program".
I have been training at CrossFit Orenda for a couple years now. It is the best place I have found for all my sports training. They have all the equipment I need that most gyms don't have. I am able to do all my Olympic Lifting as well as speed and agility training here. The Coaching and environment is top notch. I recommend this gym to all my fellow athletes and friends.
I've been to physical therapy four separate times (I know, I get injured a lot) and this was by far my best experience. I went to Jamie for back and shoulder pain that was giving me migraines. His deep tissue massages were excellent and worked to relieve tension that had built up from years of weight lifting and poor posture. He also taught me exercises to strengthen stabilizing muscles that would improve my posture and relieve the stress on my neck and shoulders. The things he taught me literally changed my life: I no longer get headaches, and the tension in my shoulders hasn't returned, even 9 months after treatment, because on top of treating the pain, he also taught me how to fix the root cause of the problem so that it wouldn't come back.
Jamie is also very passionate about what he does and you can see it in the way he interacts with patients - he always has lots of positive energy, even on a Friday afternoon at the end of a long week (which is when I would usually see him).
Finally, Jamie's greatest strength is his knowledge base. He knows way more than any other physical therapist I've worked with, and that's because he's always going to conferences and lectures about new techniques and innovations in the field. This shows that he is committed to learning and providing the best care he can. I strongly recommend him and wish him all the best in growing his business, he truly deserves it.

About a year ago, my wife and I saw the Rock Solid Martial Arts booth at Ski To Sea and decided to sign up for some fitness kickboxing classes with Penny Simpson in Fairhaven. We immediately knew we wanted to keep doing it. A few months later we decided to also try Muay Thai classes at Shayne Simpson's Rock Solid Martial Arts in Bellingham. We are hooked. A few weeks ago we decided to try mma! We absolutely love it here. Every experience we have had at either gym has been positive in every way. The instructors are amazing. We have look forward to every class. I've always wanted to get into martial arts and I'm glad my introduction was through Rock Solid.
Awesome gym. I’ll change this review to 5 stars as soon as their weekend hours become a little more friendly, but closing at 7 Saturday AND Sunday is a bummer. Otherwise, the owners are fantastic and the sheer volume of equipment makes this one of the best workout options in the city!

I posted on yelp a review in 2014 ! And what I have to say about this place is simply the same. I still use their nutrition services but since then I added personal training sessions and bootcamps.
It is not a gym where u go and feel the sales pressure most of the times they will give you advises even if they have nothing to gain.
Most of the time you will find it empty or with a few people.
It depends on the personal trainer that you pick but mine doesn't send me every day check-in texts/emails etc. So if you are in need of that you might be disappointed. I personally do not like to be micromanage so this works great for me!.
I believe this place is making me stronger mentally and physically and I never felt this healthy.
Teresa has a deep understanding of nutrition, the benefits and detriments of various foods and supplements, and dietary issues. She learns as much as she can about the individual’s nutrition/dietary patterns, any health concerns, and is able to give great guidance on how to live an even healthier life. Teresa listens well, asks insightful questions, and explains her recommendations in a way that is easy to understand.
