What do you love most about your job?

I know what it's like to feel stuck and trapped. You can absolutely overcome what's holding you back. I became a therapist to help others experience the healing I have found. I love helping others transform their pain into hope, meaning, purpose, and fulfillment.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Building my own business gave me the freedom to practice therapy according to what I know creates healing, rather than what an outside system requires me to do.

Why should our clients choose you?

With gentleness and compassion, I will guide you on your healing journey. Being a therapist for the past 14 years, I know how to take you deeper beneath the surface of your struggles. However, I will not push you too quickly. We will go at your pace. I will help you develop coping skills and strategies, as well as get at the root of your struggles. In my experience, we often we start working on depression, anxiety, or relationships, and then come to find their origins are in traumatic experiences. I have found success working with trauma survivors, and this is where my true passion lies.
By the time you are done working with me, you will have healthy boundaries, increase self-love, understand your triggers, and be able to connect with others more easily. You will be able to express your thoughts and feelings to others, without getting angry or shutting down. You will be able to quiet your inner critic. You will be able to stand up for yourself, and stop saying yes when you mean no. You will be able to trust, and feel closer to others. You deserve to show yourself the care you show to others. Contact me today or visit my website for a free 30 minute phone consultation.

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.

This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.

Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.

You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.

It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.

Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.

You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.

Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.

Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.

Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
