My sister said, “I’ll ask a member of my staff to DJ my niece’s party.” My reply, “Uh-no!” and “I’ve got the perfect DJ in mind!” While it was my daughter’s golden 12th birthday celebration, I wanted to create a memorable experience for everyone. I had in mind Mikal Clay, a fire DJ, whom I knew could accomplish the goal of creating the celebratory atmosphere that I wanted.
Mikal is incredibly talented and has a natural gift for connecting with people through music and conversation. Several factors, actually!
It starts with the preplanning stages, working directly with DJ LORi, who is your hired DJ (no substitute DJ, or last minute changes, ever!) and finally at the day or evening of the event, with the right energy of music and choices of music, whether it is today's hits like EDM, Dance, Hip-hop, Trap, RnB and more, (which is her specialty, by the way), or your favorite era music like Retro, 70s-80s-90s and Alternative Rock, 80s and 90s Dance and Hiphop, Old School House music of the 80s and 90s , Freestyle and Heartthrob, 90s Techno, Disco and Funk, Motown, and more, since she has lived through the decades and actually knows all this music because she actually spun it back then! Her three decades of being a DJ in the nightclub scene carries with her extensive knowledge of the music :)
First, it starts with working directly with the client on the pre-planning details prior to the event date. Knowing what music the clients want, (which is the #1 important factor, of course), and tailored to their event specifically, (since we all know that no two events are ever alike, at all), and DJ LORi keeps contact through emails and phone calls. Creating an itinerary and time schedule of the private party or corporate event is the key to organizing the event, plus weddings are treated with much more details, as well, given that time management is very important to keep the flow of the ceremony and reception on key. Communication with the client and venue manager on details is an absolute must, of which is a crucial part of preplanning, too, and working directly with DJ LORi, so that there are no guesswork as to what to expect for your event.
