What do you love most about your job?

I enjoy meeting people who come keen to learn and go from hardly knowing anything to becoming more and more
successful at reading music, playing music (Performing), even if it's just to themselves... but hopefully to friends and
family and to an audience at a Pupil's Concert (ISM or EPTA) Only if they want to - and possibly to ABRSM or Trinity
or other Boards' Examiners. Again only if willing. Or they can learn purely for fun!

What inspired you to start your own business?

My first Piano Teacher was 85 and I did Grades 1 - 5 with her She was a Silent Movie Pianist in the 1920s/30s
I worked out that piano playing (which I loved) could be taught all throughout your life without retiring, doing as much or as little of it as you wanted. I also found that when I had my own Children (a boy and a girl) the job fitted in with
bringing them up at home as I was self employed. Having my own children made me more equipped to teach younger
children. When I got to Grade 6 Classical Piano I got A Level Music at School and then did Grade 8 when I had left.
I won a Carol Composing Competition when doing A levels, and I have been Composing on and off ever since.

Why should our clients choose you?

I try and make the lessons fun, you can learn the style of music you want for how long you want. You can learn
with books ,without books (by ear) from a full score or from a Lead Sheet. I can teach how to practice and how to
perform (totally different!) so you are in no doubt as to what is expected of you inbetween lessons.
I take pupils who have a real acoustic piano, a stage piano, a digital piano, or (to start with) an electronic keyboard
with at least 61 keys I have a Yamaha U3 bought new in 2003, so you will be playing a good piano during the lessons.
