Uncover the difference between a Nutritionist & Dietitian and decide which one is best for you
Registered dietitians are qualified to assess, diagnose and treat dietary problems or nutritional needs. They also tend to help clients with special dietary requirements or medical conditions. To be a dietitian, you’ve got to be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Many dietitians work within the NHS as opposed to privately, although you can still find private dietitians to help advise you on your eating habits. Whereas nutritionists are more likely to be the ones advising on weight loss or sport nutrition. Nutritionists can be registered with the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN), but they don't have to be.
To become qualified as a nutritionist, I had to complete a course run by the UKVRN. After completing the course, I became qualified as a registered nutritionist. This means that all my clients can check my qualifications and experience online. Clients can therefore be confident in my abilities, as they know that I'm qualified under a trustworthy organisation.
Weight loss is the most common reason that new clients come to me. They often find it difficult to know how to get the right nutrients into their diets without feeling hungry or unsatisfied. But over the last few years, I’ve had more and more people coming to me with IBS-related issues. I think that's because more people are recognising the symptoms of IBS and are getting diagnosed. They then come to nutritionists or dietitians for guidance on how to alter their eating habits to help relieve their symptoms.

Brother Sam, elevated my training by focusing on mind muscle connection and making every rep counts + ensuring I have correct form in doing the big compound lifts (deadlifts, bent over row, squats, overhead press, bench press & pull ups) and training the abs like any other muscle along with HiiT Cardio. Would definitely recommend if you're interested in leveling up your training.

I cannot recommend Nicky highly enough. I found her very knowledgeable and patient. Her approach allows you to develop and learn at your own pace. It’s a very personal service. Nicky sessions were always a pleasure to attend, and I have really enjoyed working with her on my nutrition journey. I’ve learned so much. And I know I will carry on with everything Nicky has taught me. Thank you for your support.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Sam as my personal trainer, and I can't recommend him highly enough. From the very beginning, Sam took the time to understand my specific fitness goals and created a tailored programme and diet plan that perfectly aligned with what I wanted to achieve. Despite having some experience in the gym, I realised under Sam's guidance that I had a lot to learn. I used to think that gym success was all about volume, but Sam introduced me to the concept of mind-muscle connection, which revolutionised my training. His approach ensured that every rep counted, and I could feel the difference almost immediately. Sam's training sessions were challenging and invigorating. He pushed me to my limits, but always in a supportive and motivational way. He provided amazing tips and adjustments that enhanced my form and maximised my results. His emphasis on the mind-muscle connection helped me engage the right muscles during each exercise, leading to significant improvements in my strength and overall fitness. Thanks to Sam, I’ve made incredible progress and have a much deeper understanding of effective training techniques. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, motivating, and results-driven personal trainer, Sam is the one you want.
