Learn Doglish

We have a 4 year old cat and a 14 week old puppy. We have signed up for puppy classes but thought that a puppy foundation course would be helpful. Roy was great, he came over to our place, spent about 2.5 hours with us going through routines and basic training tips and giving us advice for introducing the puppy to the cat. Roy also provides further support until the puppy is 6 months old. He is a great trainer and very clear that he just loves dogs! Our 7 Month old Boerbol Nancy is of a very nervous disposition, she finds it hard to cope with every day life. We were very fortunate to have chosen Roy as her mentor/trainer, he is guiding not only Nancy but my wife and I with his expert knowledge and understanding, on to the correct path of dog/owner happiness.

We’ve just completed Puppy class, and it’s been an absolute pleasure to have Roy as our class trainer! We will be going straight into the Junior class to continue the good learning!

As a first-time dog owner, we wanted to ensure our beautiful Samoyed boy has a great start to his new life, and through Bark we connected with Roy from Learn Doglish.

We absolutely loved Roy, as he was incredibly knowledgeable, and he maintained great energy when teaching us and training our pup, and seeing how our boy responded to him was very encouraging.

Roy made us feel very comfortable, we spoke at length and he was open to answering all of our questions even past his initial consultant time. This was great as it made us feel listened to and empowered to continue teaching our boy ourselves.

Roy has maintained contact and has been great with giving us any advice and information we need or ask of him. If we ever encounter any issues or want specific training, we will definitely reach out to Roy again.

I attended the puppy classes and found Roy’s approach to training both practical and engaging. I highly recommend his classes and will be requesting to attend the junior class. Roy at Doglish has helped both myself and my miniature schnauzer Mabel build a positive relationship. I/we have learnt so much from Roy. I totally lacked confidence before, but with Roy’s guidance and his light-hearted funny sense of humour, I am so much more confident when walking Mabel. I now feel that I have secured a bond with Mabel, all thanks to Roy and his fabulous way of teaching dog owners how to build a positive relationship with their puppy.
So, we will both be venturing up to Shewsbury Park on Saturdays, looking forward to progressing to his junior class soon.

We’ve been taking our GSD to Learn Doglish classes since April 2021 and the difference has been amazing. Having a qualified behaviourist as a teacher, as well as someone who has GSDs of his own, is invaluable in our opinion. We have had a brilliant experience at puppy class with Roy. Initially had a one to one meet with Roy and the majority of our family with Our pup and signed up to the Puppy class Roy explains things to the class so that we understand the basics behind why we would want a pup to do certain things. He is patient when we lose our way and is a brilliant teacher. Do not worry about making a mistake, you will be guided how to do things correctly and how to advocate foryour pup so to not push them in situations they do not want to be in. classes have been informative and fun and at times we have had most of the family enjoyed. looking forward to starting Junior class !! We’ve had our first 2 sessions with Roy and can see results with our timid rescue dog Millie. The main thing I like is that Roy explains dog’s way of thinking so well and uses understandable example from our daily life. He is good with Millie and she, being so timid, connected with Roy on the first day. Roy is patient, honest, with good teaching skills and supplies well prepared training materials in his follow up emails. He replies promptly, is as detailed as possible and is serious about his work. We've had three 1:1 lessons with Roy and our 4 month old puppy Bramble has made amazing progress. Our 13 year old daughter Izzy really enjoyed the sessions and has learnt (as have we) so much in a short time. The lessons are always fun and it's been great to learn as a family. We started our pup in the puppy training class and was very pleased with the way Roy trains, his set up and how easy and adaptable he made the training sessions for us. We enjoyed them and found them so beneficial that we started the junior class which we have now also finished and found just as enjoyable. Roy came for a home visit to help us with training our Whippet puppy Rosie. I had 3 one to one lessons with Roy and have been so impressed with how well my dog has responded to him and his lessons he now walks so well on lose leash and learning sit and stay we have now joined a class and can’t wait

I have had two 1-2-1 sessions and so far so good.
Roy explained everything to me and gave me reasons why it works.

We have almost completed an 8 week course with our 7 month old Labrador- Luna . We have been so impressed with the difference this has made since starting this course. Luna began the course and after a week or two we already begun to notice the changes within her behaviour. She is still very energetic and can sometimes be crazy but to expected as she is still learning. Roy is an experienced and knowledgeable dog trainer full of so many tips and has helped us along the way when we have needed it. Had our first puppy class this morning and enjoyed it thoroughly. my pup was listening very well and the fact I had my SEN 11 year old boy with me would make things harder normally but even he was involved and our pup ended up listening to him more than me.
