From a very early age, I enjoyed making things and would often help my Grandfather in his workshop. On leaving school my Grandfather gave me a brochure for an amazing school called The John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood, I was determined I wanted to go, I got in 1981 - 1983. It became Parnham College, Parnham House, the world-famous design and furniture making school founded by John Makepeace. It was a natural progression to leave that incredible training which encouraged and integrated a business start-up immediately on leaving. Although I worked in a number of jobs, including as a designer for Theo Crosby at Pentagram working on Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Unilever House and Reuters until I set up Tim Wood Furniture in 1988, now Tim Wood Ltd and Tim Wood Furniture Ltd
