Welcome to my page! My name is Megan Trionfo. I am 25 years old and the owner of Flex & Feast Fitness, LLC. I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. I started my weightlifting journey at the age of 19. Having never played a sport in my life, I was not athletic by any means, so you can imagine how I felt when I stepped into the gym...nervous, clueless, and definitely awkward.

I started seeing Dr. Maks at Physica Medica about two months ago with pain and soreness in my neck, shoulder blades and upper back from years of sitting in front of a computer coupled with weight lifting and more recently Crossfit. My pain has always been somewhat manageable unless it flared up and then it was brutal and completely debilitating. After a recent flare up, a trainer recommended Dr. Maks to me and I am so grateful they did. After our first session of dry needling, Dr. Maks was able to relieve so much tension in my should blades/upper back. Since then, he’s worked his way through my entire back peeling back years of bad posture and improper training form that caused much of my tension and muscle spasms. He’s a master at pinpointing which muscles are tight and then precisely triggers the muscle to release the knot. Most of the pain in my back has subsided and we are now targeting different muscle groups like my quads to release tight muscles that cause my knees to pop. I only mention the latter because I just assumed I had bad knees…little did I know the knee popping was from muscle related spasm in my quad, which again Maks was able to target and release. If you're serious about getting better, this will actually make a difference and Dr. Maks is a practitioner that I fully trust and recommend.

Having a general focus on a long term goal while constantly adjusting short term goals to meet a clients lifestyle, schedule, and needs. Getting and keeping the momentum of progression towards a goal helps motivate a client. The most important part is setting a foundation of habits and knowledge to create a lifestyle that a client can continue with or without a trainer or nutritionist.
Consistency is the most important aspect of any fitness journey journey regardless of the goal. Making fitness and healthy dieting a habit rather than a chore will make reaching more achievable every day. Exercise is an important aspect but a whole lifestyle adjustment should be made. Sleep, nutrition, recovery, hydration, and stress management are all just as important as training.
I love watching people get achieve their goals and seeing the confidence and satisfaction that comes with that. Seeing progress every day and helping people make their health a priority in their lives is why I love what I do.
I wanted the freedom to set my own standards, my own hours, and my own priorities. I believed the best way that a could help others was to build my own business that put clients and quality training first. I saw large companies that only cared about volume of clients and revenue, that was not something I wanted to participate in.
I offer a client focused and goal orientated service for a wide range of performance and body composition goals. I have experience and expertise in training and nutrition which gives me a more wholistic service.
Yes, most of my clients are remote clients that work with me over various online platform, I update and send programs over google sheets and provide form checks. I also provide online nutrition services. I'm available to clients at any time for any reason.
I work exclusively in areas meeting social distancing and sanitation requirements. I have expanded my service to include video call training for those not comfortable coming into a gym.
Should I work out every day of the week?
It depends on your end goal. If you’re training for a marathon, you might work out nearly every day of the week. If you’re a low-level beginner, a minimum of three times a week is enough to make a noticeable impact. No matter what you’re working out for, everyone needs rest and recovery days. Without them, your muscles won’t be able to recuperate and grow strong, so remember to factor in some down-time, too!
Where can I have my personal training sessions?
Pretty much anywhere! The great thing about personal training is that it’s flexible - as long as you have the necessary equipment, you and your instructor can decide to have your sessions from the gym, your home, the park, or even your office if you want to!
Does my fitness instructor need to know anything about me?
Yes! First of all, they will chat with you about your goals, and discuss the best way to achieve them. They should also ask you to fill in a consent form to check that you don’t have any pre-existing health conditions that could impact your exercise. They’ll also carry out a health assessment to get a better idea of your current fitness level, tailoring your workout plan around that.
What does a standard personal training session involve?
It's tricky to say, as personal training sessions vary significantly depending on what you want to achieve and the type of workout. Generally, one personal training session tends to last forty-five minutes to one hour. It will start with a gentle warm-up, followed by the nitty-gritty of the actual workout, with stretches to end the session. Remember, warming up and stretching is essential for injury prevention - it’s just as important as the main part of the workout!
What qualifications should a personal trainer have?
A personal trainer needs to be clued up on all aspects of fitness, from the most effective exercise techniques to nutrition and human anatomy- that’s a lot of responsibility! You need to make sure your professional is suitably qualified for the job. After all, you shouldn’t cut corners when it comes to investing in your health. Make sure your trainer has the minimum qualifications required to practice. In the UK, this is the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.
Can I get a Personal Trainer online?
Absolutely! Online personal training has become increasingly popular as more people are looking to maintain their fitness during lockdowns and gyms closing. As long as you and your personal trainer have a strong internet connection and a device to stream on like a laptop, tablet or smartphone, there's no reason why your session can't be delivered remotely.
