‘19 Certificate of Excellence

As a fully independent financial adviser I take a holistic approach to planning with clients. It is important to look at the whole financial situation in order to produce a strategy that will suit your immediate needs and also grow with you as your circumstances change. Importantly I build long term relationships and have looked after some clients for more than 20 years, I have many family groups covering several generations, which truly is universal family financial planning. Currently I have three main areas of work: 1) Investment management for individuals, regular reviews of investment portfolios ensures that there is much greater potential for growth and/or income. My approach is one of active management that involves you so you are fully aware of what is being done and why. 2) Tax planning - this may involve showing you how to reduce the income tax you currently pay. It can be helping you reduce the potential Inheritance Tax due on your estate or assisting company directors to use the profits of their company in a more tax efficient way, thereby reducing the corporation tax. 3) Paying for the cost of Care can be expensive, whether this is in your own home or in a residential care home. I can help you save for this beforehand or at the point of Care tell you about the options to pay for it to ensure that you don't outlive your money. I believe in talking in straight terms rather than jargon and feel it essential to listen and understand you and your needs before giving any advice. At Savvy Financial Planning we have regular contact with all our clients. If you appreciate a personalised service that provides value for money treats you as the individual you are, in an efficient and friendly manner, then we are the right company for you.

What do you love most about your job?

I love working with the clients. When a new client comes to Savvy generally they have a specific area of their finances that they need help with, it is great to be able to deal with this and see them visibly relax knowing that they do not have to worry further. Often there are many other financial issues that I can help them with, many that they are not even aware of.
Our existing clients feel like family and it is wonderful seeing new children and grandchildren and dealing with all the changes that life brings to us all.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Having worked in the financial services industry for more than 2 decades I have experienced various companies way of providing advice. I believe that a business should revolve around the clients and provide excellent service, not only giving advice but dealing with them as the individuals they are. Looking after all of their financial needs so that it makes their life easer and they have peace of mind and can get on with more interesting things in their life. This is what Savvy was set up to do, as I couldn't find another company that offered it!

Why should our clients choose you?

Being a Savvy client you will be thoroughly looked after, we have a down to earth approach and speak in understandable English, no jargon. We have all the usual qualifications, as you'd expect, but have also gained knowledge and experience in some specialised areas like planning for long term care and inheritance tax mitigation.

Being an individual company rather than a large national firm we are able to cater for any eventuality and provide you with a bespoke service rather than being tied by 'cross company' restraints. We carry out all research on products and investment funds in house, our investment portfolios give excellent results for all 'attitude to risk' levels.

At Savvy we build long term relationships , we are proud of how we look after our clients, we will even remind you when your passport and driving licence are due to expire!
