What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?

The secret to this is a number of factors. The most important thing is the vibe from the crowd, if they aren't in the mood for partying then it doesn't matter what the DJ plays. If the crowd is up for a party then the DJ's in dream world and can play a mixture of all genres and styles of music to suit the crowd.

Music knowledge is obviously a big asset to any good DJ. If they can play the right tunes at the right moments, this creates the right energy in a room , which helps getting people in the mood to not only dance but to have a good time and feel good.

How would you describe your ‘style’?

We have many different DJ's that work for us so we have many different types of styles for different events.

Being able to adapt to a situation is what our DJ's are best at. Judging a crowd and playing a wide variety of music that suits all age groups is what we aim to do. We have DJ's on our books that are more club orientated - so create more of a club style vibe for your event playing House/Dance/Drum and Bass & Hip-Hop styles of music for types of events that want this and we have more party style DJ's that can play a mixture across the board (60's/70's/80's/90's/00's and present day hits) for those types of events.

What do you love most about your job?

We love rocking crowds, creating moments through music is what we do best! Seeing those hands in the air and smiley, happy faces from clients whilst singing along to their favorite tracks really makes the job for us!

What inspired you to start your own business?

So I've worked in the industry for almost 10 years and in that time I've worked for a lot of events companies. Some good, some bad. I decided to go alone and create my own business when I started seeing issues in peoples businesses. There are some bad DJ's out there who get a lot of work just because they are well known and the trouble is the better ones who are less known don't get the credit. Also there are cheap DJ's who book a client, then on the evening or say a week before let them down or don't give the client what they wanted, which gives us professionals a bad name. I thought to myself I can do this better alone and know enough talented, professional DJ's to work alongside me to be the best DJ events company in the area.

It normally takes around 30-40 minutes for a DJ to set up their equipment but this could change depending on the specific DJ, venue, and event.

Most DJs will offer lighting hire either as an add-on or as part of their general service. Although it really depends on the DJ and the packages they offer. For example, a DJ may include floor lighting as a standard part of the service but then charge extra for more advanced lighting equipment including bar lights and moving headlights.

Most DJs will curate a playlist based on your requests and provide it to you in advance of the event, just to make sure that you’re happy with it and to make tweaks if necessary. How much freedom you give to your DJ in terms of creating the music list is essentially down to you. Some customers prefer to request almost every artist/track on the playlist, whereas others are happy for the DJ to take the reigns and come up with the tracks themselves.
