Janet and her Team are amazing. They developed a plan for my husband and were quick to initiate the plan. Mike is always on time and aware of my husbands individual needs. Great team Highly recommend.
Bathing and dressing
The Care Inspectorate reported “The service demonstrated a very strong focus on promoting people's health, wellbeing, and quality of life. We found care was consistently person-centred, compassionate, and responsive to people's changing needs. Staff demonstrated a clear understanding of what mattered to people and how to support independence safely..” How well do we support people’s wellbeing? 5 – Very Good.
All care workers will assist with the aspects of bathing and dressing that you find difficult. All tasks will be completed the way you want things done and at your speed.
Medication
Whether you need the occasional reminder or full assistance with administering your medication all care workers are trained in completing this task.
Preparing meals
The Care Inspectorate reported “Meal preparation involved people choosing what they wanted to eat and drink, enjoyed in an unhurried way. Support with eating and drinking was undertaken in a dignified way.” (How well do we support people’s wellbeing? 5 – Very Good.)
Whether making breakfast, snacks or your evening meal our care workers will always offer choices. They will ensure good hygiene practices are followed at all times.
Cleaning
Although our care workers are trained to clean the areas that they work in while assisting with daily tasks we can also provide cleaning visits for extra tasks within your home.
Companionship
There may be times that you would appreciate a little extra company or your family member may feel happier going out if they know one of our care workers is spending time with you. From spending time chatting at home to going out for coffee and socialising with friends this can all be achieved with Continuity Care Scotland.
Shopping
Whether you would like to be taken to the shops or you would like a care worker to go on your behalf this can all be arranged. The care worker could also assist with shopping on line if you would rather have your shopping delivered.
Finances
Care workers would be able to assist you with organising your bills and ensuring that they were paid. They could check your bank transactions with you or on your behalf. All done with respect, privacy and dignity.
Hospital to home
You would receive a visit in hospital from a manager to arrange for your home to be prepare for your return. The care worker would clean, make beds, stock the cupboards and fridge and ensure your home is warm for you to return to.
This service could also be used for anyone returning home after a holiday or a visit to family members.
