Ryan Taylor has been my trainer for a few years now, first at Xport gym, then through his own business Training By Taylor, and now at Tailored Strength. He's a great guy who knows his stuff, makes it fun, and helps you get results. Tailored strength is it great addition to the wicker park/bucktown area. They offer both individual or group fitness sessions that are tailored to the individual's taking part in them. There are different options/packages for different price points, and it's honestly a great experience each time. These guys know what they're doing, and care about the people there assistingI definitely recommend checking them out for group sessions especially. They're easier on the wallet while still providing a substantially quality experience and building strength.

My husband and I trained with Malik for a little over a year and cannot recommend him enough! He was always courteous, on-time and consistent. Unlike other trainers that I've worked with in the past, he never let the workouts get dull. In addition to weightlifting, he was always bringing in something new to balance on, jump over or otherwise struggle with in our quest to get healthy and fit. We even did boxing for a while which was so fun! He was also knowledgeable and helpful when it came to taking care of ourselves. I have a bad back and my husband has a bad knee (getting old is so fun!), but he was so great about modifying exercises to make sure we didn't hurt ourselves and giving us stretches and exercises to help us feel better. We were so lucky to have Malik as a trainer and you will be too.

I have been taking Jiu Jitsu classes here for about 5 months I have to say I got very lucky to find this gym near my school. It is a great gym with amazing coaches, a very friendly and cohesive environment. The bjj classes are great. And parking is always available. They have classes in the morning evening and night which makes it easy to fit into flexible schedules. All the coaches are very informative and precise when instructing. And the facility is amazing. I would recommend that all serious golfers, if nothing else, have at least a tune up session with Mike Mandakas. I have worked with Mike for a few months. He seems to want to correct my golf swing from take away to impact and follow thru. Many instructors just work with what you have. Mike, with the use of knowledge and technology, shows you what your swing looks like and what you need to do to get it on track. I really feel Mike cares about my game and wants to improve my swing so that I can golf at my peak performance.

At the beginning of summer I purchased a groupon good for for two personal training sessions from body by Drake- its been years since the last time I was in really good shape and I want this to be the year that I get back on track in that department. Prior to going in to see Drake for the first time I had already been hitting the gym for a couple weeks so I was starting to tone up, but still on my way to the physique I'm shooting for. In my mind I was just going do the sessions to learn a few new lifts, but after training with Drake, I'd definitely like to become a regular client. Drake got me the kind of work out that I always strive for but never achieve on my own in the gym, plus it was actually fun the way he incorporates various exercises that one usually doesn't think of when they go the classic route at the gym. No doubt I'll get to the physique I'm trying to achieve if I continue training with Drake, he has a well rounded approach and knows how to keep you motivated!

Martize offers people a lot more than a gym. The strong, tight knit community i felt at Bootcamp is what brings me back day after day. It's reassuring to know you will be given intimate attention, and be pushed further than you expect without any feelings of intimidation. No two bootcamp sessions are the same, and the variety of exercises keeps my ADD self interested and excited to see what new moves we'll be doing for that day. First let me say, it’s nearly impossible for me (or anyone!) to find an excuse not to workout only twice a week, 30 minutes each time. I am at MedFitness from May to December and have been on this schedule for many years now. I have osteoporosis and take Prolia. After being on it for 2 years as required, I had my bone density scan. I’ve heard success stories from everyone who has taken it. I was delighted to hear that I had a 6% increase in bone mass in my lumbar spine and 8% in my femoral necks. My doctor said he was aware of good results with Prolia, but he had not seen numbers as high as mine after only 2 years. He could only attribute my success to my MedFit workouts.You will never find a friendlier, nicer place to work out. I’m proof that if you COMMIT, you will get FIT!Randi S.

Top notch company and their therapists truly focus and listen to you and build a program around you and your concerns. Definitely check them out!
Highly recommend this place for beginners and pros alike. All the trainers are amazing especially Justin who takes the time to make sure you are doing the workout with proper form and keeps an eye on every single person in the class. I joined the GYM this year and have been working out pretty regularly 4-5 days a week. Great trainers .They challenge you just enough and always insist that we should know "how far we can stretch". Also they focus on the form rather than more weight. I could go in the morning before work or do after work. Both timing works well and enough trainers to cover. My Back, Neck and overall my body/muscles are doing lot better. I was fine with my weight, but I got the 15 lb Bonus weight loss.
This is a new facility in Glenview that can meet the needs of many different levels of clients. The owner Anna, manager Jessica, and all the Koko staff are delightful to work with for each workout. Despite my lack of athleticism, they cheer me on through the workouts and push me gently to do better. The cardio and weight machines walk you though challenging workouts at your individual level and increase as you become stronger- the program challenges you to compete with yourself. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a place that will work with your abilities and any challenges you may have to try Koko Fit Club in Glenview!!

I'm 49 years old. I've been trying different diets and strategies to lose weight for years. A friend of mine has been going for weekly personal training sessions with Ash at Flo Fitness for a couple of years. He recommended I try it. I was really hesitant. I'm not at all fit and find going to the gym intimidating because I don't know how to use most of the equipment and I've never experienced personal training. I started two weeks ago and I can honestly say it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. Ash is a kind, patient and motivating coach. He has the ability to push me to do workouts I've never imagined I could do. He sets realistic goals for me based on my fitness level and holds me accountable for achieving them. He's training me how to use the equipment properly to get the optimal workout and to avoid injury. The martial arts kick boxing workouts are fun and exhausting. I actually look forward to going to my training sessions. I've lost 10 pounds in two weeks! My goal is 70 lbs by July. I have no doubt I'll make it because I'm no longer trying to do it alone. I now have a knowledgeable professional in my corner. I've seen members of all fitness levels. They even have classes for kids. I highly recommend this gym.
I have never felt more balance, flexibility and strength. Meghan is encouraging, firm, exacting in form to prevent an injury and knowledgeable. I am confident with her clear instruction. I began in October 2016 and can see and feel the changes. UPDATE December 2017. My New Years Resolution for 2017 is coming to a close. 2017 Goal: Commit to Pilates Reformer 3x per week. Stay focused while in class. Push myself. Relax shoulders and feet. Gain flexibility through hips. That said, I am still learning but noticed that I am paying attention to my feet placement and my core activation all day long. And I have all day energy. Then because I was feeling so good I added a nutrition goal. Significantly increase vegetable intake while reducing refined sugar and wheat intake. That combination resulted in 30 lbs weight loss. I have 416 Pilates and Meghan to thank for this new me.
I love the center!! My daughter found it for me last January, so it’s been almost a year now and I feel healthier than I have in a long time! The homeopathic medicine and supplements helped my menopause symptoms like nothing else has. I had endometriosis and I used to get hormone treatments that had horrible side effects and I was feeling really hopeless. Now I feel younger, more energetic, and I can tell that my thinking has become clearer. Thanks to Dr. Davis, my physical aches & pains are better than they used to be, and I love it that he uses kinesiology to check my supplement dosage.

Lionize has become more than just an awesome place to get in shape, but additionally it has become a place where I look forward to seeing the other members and trainers. I've done many styles of training in my life being a swimmer and the Lionize cross training classes are some of the best workouts I've had. I really enjoy the trainers positive attitude ALL the time as it sets the tone of the workout. Come try a class for free and I can guarantee you will not leave disappointed.
I've been working with Arthur for personal training and attending small group training at GFT for the past 3 weeks and have already lost 9 pounds. After a thorough orientation and fitness evaluation, Joe and Arthur work with you to set personal fitness goals, teach you about nutrition, and give you the tools you need to reach your goals. The classes are challenging but Arthur makes sure to explain the exercises, focusing on using proper form and provide alternatives for all levels or to work around any injury. During personal training sessions, Arthur is motivating and challenges me to keep me going when I want to stop. The weekly personal training holds me accountable with both nutrition and workouts. Arthur is knowledgeable about correct technique to prevent injury and creating different and challenging workouts. I've joined other gyms, done classes and worked with other trainers in the past and I've seen the most results with GFT.

I've had a great experience at AuRa Spa. I've only visited once so far but I am booking my next appointment soon. My esthetician was knowledgeable and gentle. She gave great advice on skin care at home and you could tell she really enjoys her job. I felt rejuvenated afterwards. Salon was clean and staff kind and helpful. Gio's Balanced Fitness has improved my health and physical body over the 4 years that I have been with him. Pierre is a great personal trainer and pushes you to do your best. He is so comforting and supportive you are sure to end up feeling like family :)

I'm not usually a fan of working out, but the Pilates teacher was great and she made me feel comfortable. She challenged me just enough that I felt stretched but not overworked. I was full of energy afterwards. I also like that they clean the mats after each class.
Barry is great. I've never learned how to use gym equipment, and that's not been a problem. It's a somewhat small place but that means you don't have to deal with all of the people that are around in larger gyms. I ended up doing personal training sessions, which are reasonably priced.
Shawn at King's Health and fitness is the best trainer I've ever worked with! I highly recommend her to anyone with a goal to achieve! Working with Shawn has made me stronger, healthier, happier, and more confident. Even in group classes she ensures that each client is targeting the correct muscles to get that burn! Shawn keeps me motivated throughout my workouts- I look forward to every session! (I am currently taking Bootybarre and Bodysculpt classes with Shawn. I highly recommend both!)

Not quite 2 years ago, I stopped in at the Glen Ellyn Body and Brain Center looking for a place to work out and regain my physical strength and stamina, from which I'd been sidetracked for a few years. I signed up for a one-on-one introductory session with Salvatore - a very patient instructor! Since then, I became a member and attend classes regularly. Quite simply, my life has changed. Not only is my physical condition better than ever, but I have gained so much more than that. I have an awareness about my inner self that I have never before experienced. Classes include stretches, waking up the body, some yoga, core strengthening, tai chi, and always meditation. The instructors are amazing, knowledgeable, encouraging, helping each person to move along at their own pace. The Body and Brain experience continues to give me strength, peace and fulfillment in my everyday life. I highly recommend to anyone, any age.
My wife and I were members at Midwest Fitness for 8 years before it closed down in December and thought it was a great gym. We both thought we would give Workout Anytime a shot (best value in Naperville) and we both can’t believe that this gym is priced so low. This gym has everything you need for a great workout, the staff is amazing at this gym, and the place is literally spotless. When we signed up Chris the GM was awesome and basically sold us on how great he ran the gym. When Midwest Fitness closed I was really disappointed because I didn’t think we would find anything comparable around town and we were wrong. Workout Anytime is by far the best bang for your buck around.
I am not a member of this gym, but I did drop in for one morning workout class.Overall the members and staff were nice people and welcoming to the new guy. The equipment and facilities are all in good shape, and the gym is a nice space.
Great pools, aquatics, racquetball courts, lockers and gym. Great family locker room, child care for while you work out and family gym and swim. Family gym and swim will help you survive the winter with younger kids. Their childcare will give you time to get in shape.
***** The MAC offers organized youth athletics for kids in baseball,basketball,lacrosse, & soccer. They really focus on fundamentals. We have been very pleased with our traveling girls U9 soccer team. If you live in McHenry County check it out. Tryouts for soccer are in May! Girls 2010 birth year come on tryout!
Well managed and impeccably maintained facility! 24 hour card access gym with all the equipment you need for working out.... Elliptical, treadmills, rower, Cycle, free weights, Smith machine etc...and Cybex Machines. The Trainer's here are very knowledgeable and produce positive results for their clients! This location also offers Training programs for rehabilitation needs that may be covered by your insurance (check with manager for eligibility). Great neighborhood gym....5 Stars!
Competition pool is gorgeous- crystal clear water kept perfectly cool. Facility is clean and well maintained with generous operation hours; overall atmosphere and attitude allow anyone to get in a good workout. Larger locker rooms would make it perfect.
I don’t know about this fitness club, but behind all businesses, there are people. Gregg Piper taught me long ago when I was just a young eagle, that where focus goes, energy flows. I know now that this has been very true for my life, and I know that whatever Greg puts his mind to and his heart on, will grow into something excellent and extraordinary. Thanks for being a great mentor and inspiration all those years ago!
I went to the total body build class and had a great experience. I’m somewhat new to using weights/equipment to work on strength and this was the perfect class to learn how to use certain machines and exercises to build muscle. The instructor Eric was awesome and provided all the guidance I needed in terms of correct form! It was a fun and totally effective workout!

I started my journey to get in shape last year by going to a local gym. It was going well for a little while but I was plateauing, working and working with no new results. Then I found Bloom by Dayna!!!I knew I needed to find new cardio and coach Dayna's Zumba classes were amazing! Such a great workout that really gets all the muscles engaged. And that's not even the best part, I've tried other Zumba classes, and coach Dayna's are so full of positive energy and so much fun!!! I know workouts arnt supposed to be this much fun but with the right trainer it can be!Bloom by Dayna also offers fitness classes that work even deeper at enhancing ur workout goal. She worked muscles that I couldn't find at the gym. More so I the gained learning like, better diet choices, vitamins, supplements, how to gain lean muscle and support.All in all if ur someone looking to better themselves I couldn't recommend more than to give Bloom by Dayna a try. I have had both of my son and daughter training with Rene Mata since High School. Both kids are now playing ball in college and have expressed to me how much Renee has helped them improve their strength and conditioning. Their location in Westlake plaza is very close to my work and I am always able to find time for myself between work and taking my daughters to their varying activities.
