We had an amazing experience with Valerie! Â My friend's mother gifted her daughter a customized class with Valerie and she was able to invite two friends. Â The three of us have varying levels of skill in the kitchen, but Valerie was able to walk us through creating an amazing dinner and desert. Â Valerie gave us so many tips that we will now be able to apply to several other dishes and also gave us many tips about specifically what kinds of foods and spices to buy as well as how long these items can last. Â Instead of taking friends out for dinner and drinks or having a girls night, we discussed that we would rather have a cooking/learning experience with Valerie. Â I would absolutely recommend Valerie to my friends and look forward to our next lesson!

Grasing’s was a pleasant experience. We have spent the last 8 days between Napa and Carmel. Enjoying great wine, food and service.
We’ve spared no expense focused on making the most of our experience.
Even though Gracing’s was by far not the most expensive, we both left this evening agreeing that it was our best meal and experience of our trip.
Mark, our server was amazing. Attentive to our questions about the meal and our wine choices. The atmosphere was high end yet unpretentious.
I enjoyed the Paella and my wife the Scallops. The palella was perfect as was her scallop dish.
Nice job. Highly recommended.

We had dinner at Schooner's Coastal Kitchen & Bar on 02/09/2012 after seeing an article on the Local Newspaper about this new restaurant (We are Locals)The night started with a couple of great drinks. My wife had the "Paradise Found" which she said it was delicious. I decided on a Traditional Mojito which was excellent as well. We started with a couple of appetizers. My wife ordered the "Tuna Poke" which was spectacular and I ordered the "Angry Prawns" which was also very tasty with enough kick to it. As a second course we decided we would just share a salad and opted for the "Chopped Salad". For our entrees, my wife selected the "Peanut-Crusted Mahi Mahi" and I had the Fisherman's Cioppino. Both of our entrees were fantastic as was the bottle of Morgan Chardonnay. We finish the night with a dessert sampler! We would highly recommend this restaurant to others and we'll definitely be back. Service was impeccable from beginning to end. A must go Restaurant when in Monterey. Cheers!

My signature dish is all about the humble taco. I am so enthusiastic about elevating it to the next level by bringing the craft of the taco to your party. Making fresh tortillas on site is a must. My favorite meat offering for a taco is carnitas, which takes me hours to prepare. If you don't put my famous pickled red onions on top of your taco, then you are missing out on a mouth watering experience. I believe in having multiple salsas and a guacamole that is made fresh with a kick. Serve this with sides of garlic fried black beans, oven roasted salmon and an assortment of cheeses... *POW* tons of fun with mind blowing flavors all carried by the humble taco.

I take copious notes and cross examine my options with my colleagues and co-workers to identify solutions to problems that haven't even come up yet. The process for creating the perfect menu takes some back and forth and some time, and crafting a menu is one of my favorite ways to get to know my clients and their guests.
I love working with the most beautiful fresh ingredients. It is not always possible, but when it is, 90% of the work is done for me by the farmer and it is my job to carry that ingredient the last 10% to let it shine. Being in business, the most fulfilling aspect of my job is that I create other jobs for hard working passionate people in my community. I love working with these smart, caring and funny people and they are what makes my job amazing.
I have worked in many aspects of the food industry over the last 10 years and I saw an opportunity to create more intimate experiences where people can observe the process and get their hands dirty. Watching someone make a tortilla is super fun. Watching someone make dumplings is super fun. For me, as a life long and passionate learner, to be able to share that learning with those around me is what makes the effort worthwhile. I love food and I believe that it can do magical things.
