What’s your signature dish?

I think my signature dish is what got me started in the cooking business. I was 12 years old and after being at a restaurant in Waikiki called Hy's steakhouse, I watched them make bananas foster. Several months later I tried making it without any recipe but just my memory from watching them at the restaurant. Once me and my mom tried it I knew I had a talent for cooking. As a teenager I started getting asked to make it at parties we were invited to. Banana's Foster was my thing.

How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?

I take into account their budget, taste, theme and also the functionality of the food for the event location itself.

What do you love most about your job?

People love to eat, I love to eat and I can give people what they love!

What inspired you to start your own business?

My dad had a restaurant when I was younger. I worked in it a lot and learned things about the business. Once I turned 18 and was graduated from high school I decided I didn't want to do anymore schooling, as I couldn't stand school in the first place. I definitely had a passion for food and cooking by this time. I needed to decide what my career was going to be quickly. My dad no longer had his restaurant but had long been in the construction business. Food and construction were the two things I grew up around. Construction frustrated me too much, so food it was.

Why should our clients choose you?

There are a lot of really big and successful catering companies in our area but a business like that does not give you the personal touch and access to the chef and owner of the business. I work directly with every catering event that I do. I am also reachable at all times of the day whereas other companies can only be reached during business hours.
