We have used the Nicola and the Poochie People over 3 years and can’t recommend them highly enough! Nicola really cares for all the dogs and animals, and our beagle really looked forward to his walks. The organisation is great, with walks booked via an app. Communication has been excellent about any issues and good notice given for any holidays. Nicola has been really reliable and has really tried to cover things when there has been the occasional inevitable sickness. We also got some behavioural advice for a few issues, and it was really helpful given that she already knew our dog. We would recommend the Poochie People to anyone looking for a reliable dog walker, and are sad to be moving out of her patch. More...

The Poochie People have been absolutely fabulous! The pet sitting booking was very last minute, and nothing was too difficult for them😊 Sam was fantastic with Minnie and gave lots of updates throughout their time together, which really put my mind at ease as I have major anxiety leaving Minnie with other people due to her “quirks”😂 I will 100% be using their services again whenever I need a pet sitter❤️🐶

Nicola has looked after our chickens several times whilst we've been away & has been exemplary every single time, sending us regular updates & pics of the girls. She genuinely cares about their wellbeing and goes above and beyond to ensure they're healthy and happy when we're away. I wouldn't use or trust anyone else! More...

Nicola is helping to train us and our lab, Sheila. She is knowledgeable, kind and patient. She has set us up with a detailed plan to follow and also walks Sheila, introducing her to suitable doggy friends to play with and monitoring first hand how She is getting on. Nicola never minds answering our questions and helping us understand the world from Sheila's point of view. Chuffed to have found her and looking forward to our continued work together. More...

Nicola is friendly and non judgemental. Comes with an open mind and a whole bundle of knowledge to boot. She is fantastic with dogs and provides achievable advice, hints and tips to help you and your dog to improve their behaviours. Consistency is key, so by providing straight forward and achievable goals, built with your lifestyle in mind, she really sets you up to help rather than fail your four legged friend. I had two sessions with my dog Hope, one for lead reactivity and one for recall and getting her back on lead. I am already seeing huge improvements in just a few weeks. I found myself voice noting Nicola saying’ Thanks for the distraction technique, such a simple thing to do but it worked so well and not just with my dog but with dogs I walk as well’. Thanks Nicola. Lucy (and Hope🐾). More...

I cannot recommend Nicola enough for the support she has given us with our 3 year old cocker spaniel who had become reactive to certain breeds of dogs due to some bad experiences in the past. Nicola really took the time to get to know our dog and has built up a great relationship with him. Nicola is very knowledgeable and great at understanding different behaviours and knows exactly how to address them. Nicola wrote us up a very detailed plan to help improve our dogs behaviour and we have definitely seen improvements since we have been following it. We really appreciate the efforts Nicola goes to and we wouldn’t trust anyone else to look after our dog. More...

I first got in touch with Nicola last year (2023) for help with my Rottweiler's recall as at nearly 2 (he is now 2.5) it was pretty much non-existent and both he and myself wanted him to be off-lead to enjoy the walks more but I also needed to be able to trust him to come back to me when needed. Nicola spoke to me about him and asked what he was like, was he food orientated, or toy orientated etc and then came up with a plan for me to follow in regards to helping West master his recall skills. I also asked her advice about what a high value treat would be and we both agreed primula cheese would be it - and I also asked instead of a hand signal if I could use a whistle which again she agreed too. By following the plan that Nicola created specifically for myself and West - we have managed to overcome his "I'm going to pretend to be deaf" and have actually 99% of the time cracked his recall. His recall is still lacking when it comes to him having or have found a tennis ball or anything like that but I have booked in again in June with Nicola and her behavioural services to try and come up with a plan to try and crack that issue now. Without Nicola's constant support and the plan that she created for myself to crack recall with West, I don't think I would have been able to do it - now I can happily let him off-lead and play with other dogs etc but also know that he will come back to me as and when needed. I highly recommend Nicola and her behavioural services, she is a lovely lovely person who you can tell clearly loves her job and it helps that my boy, West, adores her too which when you are trusting someone to help you with them is important. Definitely 10/10 stars from myself and we have used her walking services while I was away on holiday and will definitely be booking him in again for the odd walk or so! Be ready for more dive-bombing Nicola! More...

They prioritise the welfare of the animals in their care and look after them as if they were their own pet. They are very approachable and will answer all my silly questions!
