What’s your interior design process?
Every project is different, so the specific services required will vary depending on the brief. However, there are generally three key stages of CCID's interior design process to create a client's dream home or business space.
1) Consultation & Brief
Our service / process starts with visiting the client at their home or business space. The main objective will be to fully understand the project brief and evaluate the space they want to transform, as well as listening to their ideas about the style and atmosphere they would like to create. We will also set out to establish the specific interior design services they require to make their dream home or business space a reality.
2) Design Process
Once we have a detailed brief, we will then focus on the design process, delivering a range of interior design services and property styling solutions for their home or business space. This will often include a combination of 2D and 3D visualisations, mood boards, sample selections, elevations, drawings and room plans, as well as a detailed breakdown of products and their associated costs.
3) Project Management
Cassandra Chessum Interior Design can help make a client's dream space a reality. We offer full interior design project management services, ensuring the highest standards. This can involve sourcing and purchasing art and antiques, as well as furniture and fabric. We can also help to secure the best tradespeople and craftspeople for a project, as well as staging and styling a client's dream property.

Which interior design styles can you cater for?
CCID caters for a diverse range of interior design styles, from classic to contemporary, and minimalistic to mid-century modern. However, rather than imposing a "house" style, CCID listens to your preferences and interests. We then create a cohesive interior design scheme with a design style that reflects your personality or your company's ethos. What do you love most about your job?
I LOVE my job.
People: I am very fortunate to work with wonderful clients, colleagues, suppliers and tradespeople. This is such as wonderful part of my job and many of these people I now class as good friends.
Projects: I love the diversity of the projects that we work on, ranging from residential and commercial buildings, to contemporary and period properties. Some require a quick makeover, whereas other projects can take 5 years from initiation to completion.
Products: I love sourcing new and innovative products for our clients. This can range from unique products from local artisan producers, as well as items from well-known brands in interior design, which are synonymous with quality and style.

What inspired you to start your own business?
Born into a family of antiques dealers and textile designers, it is no surprise that my earliest memories involve trailing after my parents as they searched for antiques down the King’s Road and sourced textiles from far and wide. It’s fair to say that interior design is in my blood. For as long as I can remember, I have always been interested in architecture, design and interiors. After buying and renovating an 18th century thatched cottage by the coast, I decided to turn my passion into a career.
I have over 15 years experience working in sustainability and the built environment, working on projects related to climate change, energy, water and responsible sourcing. Throughout my career to date, I have gained an excellent set of transferable skills, which makes me a shrewd negotiator and excellent project manager. This ensures that I am well placed to complete interior design projects (to time and to budget), as well as negotiating competitive prices with suppliers / tradespeople.

CCID offer a range of interior design services both remotely and in person. Remote services include (but are not limited to) telephone consultations (via mobile or landline), video conferencing (such as Zoom or WhatsApp), electronic mood boards (delivered by PDF) and sample boxes (delivered by courier). What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
CCID have made a number of changes to keep our clients safe from COVID-19. This includes online and remote delivery of interior design services, as well as regular temperature checks and tests for COVID 19, sanitisation and face coverings.
