We can provide a fully outsourced finance department and finance director service for your business. We specialise in business planning & growth support for start-ups and established businesses, offering unrivalled knowledge and expertise when it comes to UK Taxation.

We also offer a comprehensive management and financial reporting solution for your business, allowing you to make key business decisions armed with accurate and realistic data.

Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?

"Combining unrivalled knowledge, skill and commitment, chartered accountants enable businesses, organisations and individuals to achieve their financial and strategic goals with rigour, integrity and vision.” – ICAEW.

Chartered accountants were founders of the accountancy profession and have led its global development. By law anyone can call themselves an accountant. The title ‘chartered accountant’ and the letters ACA or FCA, however, indicates that they have undertaken a minimum of three years n-depth training, passed a series of rigorous examinations in financial management, auditing, business strategy and taxation, and have committed to continuing professional development to keep their skills up to date.

Chartered Accountants are not only capable of providing everyday, basic accountancy services ranging from bookkeeping to help with self-assessment tax returns – they are also perfectly placed to offer in-depth taxation, business & strategic advice and guidance across a broad range of sectors and entity types, for example Charities, Ltd companies, partnerships and sole-traders

What do you love most about your job?

What inspired you to start your own business?

Have you ever seen something so poorly executed you thought, “I could do that way better!” That’s why we began Connected Accounting. Being in the accounting industry for over 20 years showed us that we could do a lot better for our clients. Most accountancy firms don't offer the 360 degree service that we offer in terms of accountancy, business and tax planning. We set out in 2015 to spread our vision of what an Accountancy and Business Adviser Firm should be - a firm which strives to help you achieve your goals of success!

Why should our clients choose you?

"Accounting is simple when you trust your Accountant" - Samuel Troy FCA.

Remember that anyone can call themselves a 'bookkeeper' or 'accountant'. Although unqualified accountants are subject to the same law as chartered accountants, ICAEW Chartered Accountants are bound by the organisational Code of Ethics and are subject to disciplinary procedures from the ICAEW. Chartered Accountants are required by businesses for a number of reasons that include financial reporting, corporate finance, auditing, forensic accounting, taxation, business recovery and insolvency.

You will often find chartered accountants occupying the key finance director roles in organisations, using their financial knowledge and expertise to control the management of the business and to help it develop.

So if you want unrivalled professionalism, expertise and experience that you can trust, that doesn't break the bank and is a cut above the standard high street 'bookkeeper' or 'accountant' or service, then you've come to the right place.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

The title 'Chartered Accountant' and the letters ACA or FCA, indicates that the person has undertaken a minimum of three years in-depth training, passed a series of examinations in financial management, auditing, business strategy and taxation as well as committing to continuing professional development.

As opposed to specialising in tax returns, a Chartered Accountant instead will focus on providing accurate records of all financial transactions for an individual or business. Consequently, this type of accountant is more likely to be found employed in a more commercial capacity.

Hiring the right Accountant for your business may take a bit of time. Who you choose to look after your accounts is vital, especially if you have plans to expand as you will need to look for someone who will get more involved in the financial side of things the bigger your company gets.

  • Research - Start with the company’s website and look at the accounting services they offer with an eye on what you might need in the future. If you choose an accountancy firm that doesn’t have the expertise to help you as your business expands, you will end up needing to finding another accountant.

  • Create a shortlist - Create a shortlist of three or four firms you
think are a good fit and arrange face-to-face meetings with all of
them. In addition to the fees, you need to find out about the
services they provide, as well as their customer services.

  • Fees - Some Accountants charge by the hour while others operate on a fixed-fee basis. You need to be clear before selecting an Accountant for your business on how their fees are calculated.

  • Qualifications - It is important to ask questions about the
qualifications and experience of the people who would be dealing with your accounts. You need to know that you could work with them, trust that they are on your side and are continually looking for ways of
adding financial value to your company.

  • Accounting software - You will want to check that any systems you use are familiar to the accounting firm. Your current method of financial reporting may not be the most effective one for your business and they may recommend systems that can do it better.

  • Financial jargon - If you are not an expert on finance, your Accountant needs to understand this and be able to communicate with you in a clear and concise manner.

You can be confident that any of the Accountants listed on Bark will be a safe pair of hands for your finances.

Before you choose an Accountant, you could ask to see examples of their work, read testimonials and ask to see references of past work they have done.

The AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification is the minimum level of qualification required for most kinds of accountancy.
