My mother hired this villa for my wedding, with guests travelling from the USA and Pakistan. The property comfortably accommodated 17 guests, although there was space for up to 22. Chris is an exceptional host — incredibly helpful, always just a phone call away, and a pleasure to deal with. The villa itself was beautiful and proved to be the perfect venue for our wedding. Everything was well-organised and well-maintained, with a lovely garden where we set up a marquee that Chris kindly arranged and prepared for us. The villa also has a large, well-equipped kitchen, which made it possible for us to host our Henna night for 50 guests, who all enjoyed their dinner comfortably. He personally welcomed our guests, showed them to their rooms, and made sure they felt comfortable from the moment they arrived. Chris even took them on a tour of Milngavie village and the surrounding areas. The location was ideal, with shops, buses, and trains all within walking distance. Everyone truly enjoyed their stay and had a wonderful experience. Our wedding would not have been as enjoyable without the villa and the support we received from Chris and his family. Thank you so much for everything — your kindness and efforts truly made our celebration special. Sending you lots of love and our very best wishes.Chris, apologies for the delay in sharing this review — if I could give you 100 stars, I absolutely would!Lots of LoveYas xx More...

Pleasant Hill was the perfect place for our family of 14 including our Grandchildren ages 5-15 to visit Scotland. Chris and Francis were exceptional hosts offering assistance on all of our requests. The outside area was perfect for our grandchildren. They used the Hot Tub and played soccer on the lawn. We also entertained my wife’s Scottish family for two birthdays. The location close to the Milngavie Train Station and local shopping mall was perfect for our travels. We would strongly recommend Pleasant Hill for a large group.Cheers More...

Large group of us stayed here for a friends stag do and we all had a brilliant time. The villa was nice with plenty of room for everyone, the beds were comfortable, the garden was massive and the hot tub was amazing. The location was also spot on with loads of places to eat and drink in the town centre. There was also the option of going into Glasgow as the train station was only a short walk from the villa. Chris and Frances were excellent hosts and were always around if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend this villa to family and friends. More...

This was such an awesome place to stay for our experience in Scotland! Chris and Frances were incredible hosts! They were so accommodating, helpful, and supportive right from the start. We had the need to find a location for our luggage until the 4 pm check in and reached out to Chris to see if there was anyway we could leave luggage for 10 adults in an unobtrusive location until check in. He welcomed us graciously, volunteered to come get some of our luggage from the airport for us (we had enough it worked out better to get a large people carrier taxi and just fill it with luggage), helped us unload and stack the luggage, and then they carried the luggage inside while we were gone. And this was after he also told us he could try to let us check in early if we needed to (based on getting cleared up after the guests that left that morning).Chris was also extremely communicative throughout our entire stay, offering us advice on destinations and attractions, offering to help us get groceries to the home, transportation information, and absolutely anything else we needed. He and his wife were absolutely delightful and welcoming with every interaction. And the lodgings were beautiful and spacious for our group. The games on hand to play during inclement weather (or a down evening) were a delight. They also have very clear directions and guidelines on house rules and use that are helpful and not unreasonable. Their welcome manual is full of all the necessary information for a comfortable stay. And for our checkout, they volunteered to drive my parents to the bus stop early in the morning of our checkout. I truly have never experienced the level of accommodation that Chris and Francine offered! Thank you!Edit: I want to add another note. When we had a snafu with the taxi we ordered, Chris not only showed up to help load, but immediately offered again to take my parents and the remaining luggage to the bus stop for us. Thank you again Chris for a wonderful experience! More...

This is a great place to stay. The host is amazing!!! He is very attentive and went over and above to make us feel welcome. If you are staying in this area this is the place for you! The town is lovely the trail is amazing and access to the area is pretty easy via train. We enjoyed the eateries especially WuTangs, we ate there twice and both times were amazing. My only complaint is that the sitting area did not accommodate our family for the evening gatherings. The couch is not comfortable but considering that we were out seeing the sites most of the time it was not that big of a deal. The hill leading up to the house gets the heart pumping but is not an issue. Soaking in the hot tub helped alleviate that each night. I will definitely return to Scotland and Milngavie again. More...

Would give this place 6 stars if it was possible! Stayed for a stag party for a long weekend and it was the perfect place for a big group (17). Chris’ communication was extremely helpful and timely and he could not do enough for us - he gave golf recommendations, the fridge was stocked with beer on arrival and he’d even sorted us 20% off our food bill at the local sports bar (fullbacks - highly recommend). We utilised the hot tub and garden games on day 1 before heading into the city that evening by train (5 minute walk). Chris had then put us in touch with cafe alba who brought us full Scottish breakfasts to the house the next morning. There is loads of seating options, and space to congregate. There are also plenty of bedrooms to accommodate large groups. The hot tub was a lovely addition to the weekend for us and looked over some beautiful views and was great fun on the Friday night, and lovely to relax in and nurse a sore head on Saturday morning! The location was perfect and there was a supermarket close by. We had some plans in Glasgow and planned to use the train station which is located very close by. Less than a 5 minute walk and all down hill too!The real diamond part was the hosts. Chris and Frances were truly lovely. They arrived to let in the first two people in our party, and came back to speak to the lead guest when we arrived and kindly took some group photos for us too. There was a small problem with the fire alarms beeping but we called Chris who arrived almost instantly and replaced all of the alarms and we had no further issues. Job done in 5 minutes! Milngavie! What an incredible trip to a beautiful place. Our host, Chris, went above and beyond to cater for our needs before (and after! ) our visit. Pleasant Hill, what can i say. A wonderful house with great views surrounding. An especially good view whilst sat in the hot tub! All the usual things you would expect from a 5* booking were all there (clean beds, clean towels, clean house) however ontop of all that we had Chris put all of our shopping order away (which we ordered to his house the day before) Chris has all the hot tub ready etc and he had stayed personally to greet us all separately - a wonderful touch to an area non of us had been! Milngavie is full of amazing places to see and activities to do. We already had a pre list of excursions (sent to us by Chris beforehand) so everything was planned and ready. One place of Chris’ list that is particularly interesting was Mugdock Visitors Centre, a must visit for any group! Once we got to our final day, Chris came along and helped with our tidying and packing (even found a few things we had left behind!)Honestly, we all had such an amazing time and we put half of it all down to our host. Thank you for everything! I fully recommend Pleasant Hill to anybody looking for an incredible stay in Scotland. Thanks again, Chris! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ More...

Pleasant Hill is a charming, well-located and comfortable bolt-hole for trips in and around Glasgow, and for anybody looking to go further afield into the nearby mountains. Chris (the host) is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and really couldn’t do enough to help us. He went beyond the call of duty for us during our stay and we really couldn’t have asked for a more accommodating host. Prior to arrival, Chris had been kind enough to give us the details of the local supermarket delivery which he kindly took delivery of and unpacked for us so our items were ready and waiting upon our arrival. Upon arrival, we were greeted with homemade cakes which were delicious and very welcome after a long day of travelling! The house itself is clean and well-resourced with plenty of garden games and activities for children, plus the ample hot tub that was serviced twice-a-day. The hosts even provided separate ‘tub towels’; they really did think of everything! Milngavie itself has a lovely village-like feel and has many independent shops and bakeries (we recommend the Honeybee at the bottom of the hill) and there are also larger supermarket stores within a short walk. Overall, a great house in a super location with an outstanding host. Thanks so much Chris and Frances! More...
