If you are struggling to take action on your goals, are stuck, confused, lonely or overwhelmed, allow me to guide you towards your own, unique solutions for health and happiness. My coaching approach combines mindfulness, habit building, and ancestral health principles (the idea that humans have evolved in a vastly different environment than the one we live in now). I can support you in adjusting diet, exercise, sleep, stress, work and play behaviors while always holding your, personal vision for well-being. My process is fun, loose, personalized and experimental, striking an easy balance between structure and flexibility. I offer private individual and group coaching (in-person and remote), guided group meditations and clinic-based, doctor-supervised health coaching.

What do you love most about your job?

I love helping clients uncover wellness, wisdom and change using the strengths, values and interests they already have. Maybe its a passion that's been dormant or newfound excitement around a relationship or job. I find the most joy in working with clients on what works for what matters to them. So if we are focusing on food, what meals and ingredients do you prefer and what creative ways can we make them more healthy? If it's movement, what activities do you enjoy?

What inspired you to start your own business?

My own wellness journey, which has included personal experience with stress-related health problems, body image issues and anxiety. I have experimented with various diets, exercise routines and mental practices. The major lesson I have learned is that you can eat well, exercise regularly, sleep enough, but ignoring mental and emotional states will always leave a gap towards lasting wellness.

Why should our clients choose you?

I bring a new approach to well-being. Once we have established your goals and laid out an initial plan, we will do the work of using mindfulness to really explore and get interested, without judgement, in your full experiences. What's working, what's not working? Then we will brainstorm small solutions, always with an eye towards that pervasive mismatch between human biology and the modern world. This becomes an iterative process - try something, evaluate, try something else, evaluate. We may uncover problems and solutions that we never considered on day one. For example, perhaps your weight gain is due to poor sleep, or your relationship struggles are due to below-radar chronic stress at work.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
