For 5 years now and running, The Refuge has brought Angie down to Denver to facilitate meditative archery, mindful archery, labyrinth, and kids archery workshops for our community. Each and every time, all of the participants--across ages, levels, life experiences and present realities--experience incredible transformation in such a short period of time. It's the kind of work that doesn't go away once the experience is done and is so much more than just shooting arrows; it lasts, heals, moves us toward greater freedom.. Her wisdom, patience, strength, leadership, and facilitation of these experiences is a true gift to anyone who takes the opportunity to be part. More...

Angie’s wise leading through meditative journaling is incredible and the archery portion is fun . Left feeling very empowered.

Not only is Angie down-to-Earth, supportive, and knowledgeable, she brought tea and cocoa to our chilly December archery session! She responds quickly to emails and scheduling our session was simple. Mindful Archery with Angie was a great experience for our family (all 3 teenagers got along and encouraged each other the entire time.) More...

I engaged Angie as Spiritual Director and we shared online sessions a couple of years ago. This was at a time when I was experiencing huge transitions and trauma from an abusive situation and needed support and empowerment from an objective and spiritually empathic source. Angie matched my energy perfectly and provided not just a soft place to land, but a hard place to lean against. The sessions were always guided my me and Angie held space for us in a skillful and authentic way. I recommend her to anyone who prefers a no-bullshit approach to Spiritual Direction. More...

I highly recommend Angie's spiritual direction and workshop. Both helped me to learn new things about myself that I carry with me.

The archery workshop was an ideal way for me to touch the edges of something painful in myself without it taking me down the black hole. Angie has an open sense of spirituality that made me feel safe to believe what I want and feel what I want. It is beyond encouraging to have someone say that this tough work is important and painful and vital. This experience was exactly the hand I needed for that moment in my journey. Keep in mind when you go, (which you really should!) that she will not do the work for you. This is participatory. You must show up for yourself. It will be worth it. Angie is exactly the presence you need when facing this. At least, she was for me. Plus, archery is just a ducking blast! More...

Thank you Angie Fadel for an amazing workshop and introducing me to a safe and dignified way to look at my rage, anger, grief and loss. Angie Fadel showed up for me as a Spiritual Director at a time in my life when I was doubting my ability to reach God on any level. She listened without judgement, took walks with me, encouraged me to start where I am, and to recognize that what I was experiencing and feeling was valid. Angie helped me sit with uncertainty and learn that God is big enough to handle it. All of it. Today I am more grounded and less doubtful in part because of the work that I was able to begin with Angie. I carry it a year later and encourage anyone who needs/wants help and direction to seek her out. More...

I first met Angie as a young adult more then six years ago. In that time Angie has helped me grow as a human being through many ebbs and flows of my life. Her spiritual direction, journal retreats, guidance, support, love and wisdom have helped me gain courage and confidence in my life. She has been like a second mother to me when i have needed it. I have tremendous respect for her. You are in good company with Angie. Spiritual Direction is not a job for this woman it is WHO she is. I have an ever flowing gratitude for this woman I have had the privilege to call a pastor, Spiritual sister and mother, guide and friend. Thank you Angie. More...

She expects me to dream – Some churches may not want such a demand…and this is not a demand in any negative sort of way. She expects me to dream about an explosion in my area of expertise. What God has called you to do with your talents. I like that constant drive to dream.

She always has a challenging, fresh thought – When Angie speaks to us it's always current from her devotions, her leadership experiences, her hardship and victories and her strong relationship in Christ & what He has done for her.

She cheers me on publicly – She says it publicly. She is always generous to give praise, even when it may not be earned.

She’s authentic – Pastor is real! I’ve watched her preach about caring for hurting people and then get in a car for a conference or class to sit down with other Pastors who are hurting. – be you and not someone you’re not, especially someone else.

She’s a Force – The lady is confident, not cocky. She’s decisive and loyal. She's not a passive leader that people may love but can’t respect.

She makes time – I watch her stand around after services and talk to whoever is there and wants to help. Handing out food, setting up, taking down..giving rides. She's in the people business so she always makes others a priority.

She answers my calls – I can’t recall but just a couple of times that I’ve ever had to leave my Angie a message. She’s got to be the busiest Pastor in Portland yet she always answers my calls unless she is just not able at the moment. She always stays accessible.

She knows my family – She knows everyone in my family by name. By the way, I’m just 1 of hundreds she is always staying in touch with or working with. Her love of people reveals depth of relationship

Her first answer is NEVER no – I have 1000% confidence that Angie's first response is always “yes” to my questions. She leads an environment that’s free to dream.

“Oh, you’re here!” vs “I’m here.” – Angie doesn’t arrive and expect others to look at her. She looks at others and makes them feel like they are the VIP in the room.

She’s generous – The day I was married she made time to help host, set up & say the most heart touching prayer for my husband and I.

She celebrates my wins-but she always takes notice of God’s activity that doesn’t directly involve me and celebrates it.

She’s encouraging – She always has a message to let you know that she loves you very much and is grateful to God for you.She lets people under her leadership hear that she cares about them.

Angie is absolutely one of the most inspiring people that I have been privileged to know and associate with. Collaborating with her brings out the best in oneself and all involved, And not just "the best" from a perspective of performance, but more importantly in one's own well-being and broader outlook. As an advisor and empathizer, Angie is skilled in that most important of aspects, being an excellent listener. This along with her ability to aptly be encouraging or challenging make Angie's voice a highly worthwhile input, and one that I have great respect for. More...

Angie has carried me through one of the two hardest times in my life, and done so with the kind of grace and patience I never thought I could expect from anyone. This in and of itself has impressed me, but over the years I've come to realize that she is somehow able to muster the same degree of support for everyone around her. Regardless of your spiritual beliefs, or even lack thereof, you couldn't ask for a more loving, honest, gracious person to walk with you along whatever path life has set at your feet. More...

My thoughts on Angie Fadel right now have to do with how she has helped guide my son through the years and how I've seen her raise and nurture her own children into human beings I genuinely respect and enjoy. I love how she is with my son and have always been able to trust that when she speaks to him, she speaks with truth and honesty and joy and care and empathy. I know that when he is around her, he is learning how to be more connected to the world around him and to the people in it. I trust this woman with the thing that is most precious to me in this world, because I have seen her trustworthiness in the many years I've known her. I would not hesitate to ask her guidance. I am a lot younger than Angie but she makes me feel like her equal, not like she is above me in any way. She is humble, kind, and rough in a way that makes you trust her and that she will fight for you and along side you. Her words are raw and real so that you feel safe expressing whatever you may be feeling or going through. The way she she talks about her own experiences and how she has gone through them has always been a huge encouragement to me. I have never felt so comfortable and safe with a "pastor". She brought a whole new definition to that word; flipped it up side down and lit it on fire. I recommend her for anyone going through a spiritual dry time, high time or unanswerable questions. She is just peaceful to be with. More...

The Archery & the Soul workshop was just what I needed. The intensive journaling helped me focus my intentions around using a new practice for working through some difficult emotional material. The archery instruction was connected to those intentions and made me feel totally at home in my first time with a bow and arrow. The workshop helped me use archery as an embodied practice for focusing some of the energy from my difficult emotions into a vehicle for transcendent release. A few days after the workshop, when I encountered some of the emotional material I was working with again, I was able to summon some of the postures I learned in my journaling and archery lesson as method for producing an intentional, non-reactive response to my feelings. Such a gentle, safe, constructive, and eye opening experience. It has been several months since working with Angie, and I still find myself looking at my journal, and reflecting on the way this session changed me in ways and helped to give me direction during a very trying time in my life.

I took Angie's journaling and archery workshop last summer and it was one of the best things I did for myself all year. With creativity and care, Angie has put together a great workshop that combines two valuable practices to help you get in touch with the difficult feelings of rage, loss, and grief, feel them in your body, and work through them at your own pace. You'll come away with practical tools you can use in your own spiritual walk. Angie brings empathy and attention to the process as well as humor and a real, lived vulnerability that is a real gift to experience. She is truly gifted as what she does. I highly recommend this workshop and Angie's care. More...

Angie provides a safe space where one can process one's anger through the transformative power of journaling and then release the anger via archery. Highly recommended especially during this turbulent time where you'd have to be insane not to be angry. Don't let the anger though eat you up - let Angie help you process your pain so you can then move forward in faith not fear. More...

It also helped me see a pattern of my behavior, and Angie gave me great advice on how to deal with conflict more productively, which I carry with me and apply in my life. I gained a lot of insight into our group dynamic and things began to make a lot more sense after the workshop. It allowed insight and healing to begin. Q&As

I love people! And helping people learn to trust, love, and value themselves. Connecting people to their bodies through archery and mindfulness in nature is one of my favorite things to do.

The freedom to connect to clients through nature, archery, mindfulness, meditation, FaceTime, and the phone. Not being limited in what I can offer someone to help them heal and find connection.

I have a proven client track record of over 8 years and am a lifelong learner which means I am constantly educating myself on new ways of learning emotional intelligence, self-awareness, healthy living, and trusting ourselves. I don’t just have something to tell/show you- you have something to tell/show me. We are learners together in a symbiotic relationship.
