Paul is a literal genius. Gold star for the attentive, humorous, and respectful nature of his tutelage. He treats everything I bring him as something of value, no matter how chaotic, and scrupulously helps me pare away at a piece until it is exactly what it needs to be. I previously struggled with a relentless cycle of over-editing my creative work while refusing to share it or expose it to feedback. To that end, working with Paul has been a game-changer. He has not one unkind bone in his body. His warm, matter-of-fact attitude and genuine enthusiasm for sharing, supporting, and further refining refinement proceses (lol) is the cherry atop his sundae (read: vast arsenal of technical skills and strategies.) Paul's close reading, sophisticated grasp of syntax as a tool for deliberately constructing and toning aesthetic & emotional experiences, and his ability to tailor feedback/ creative exercises to match my learning style makes him one of the most effective teachers I've ever had. Which feels kind of remarkable because tbh we are quite close in age, and I am baffled by how much unhelpful, unintelligible feedback I recieved from seasoned writers/artists / educators--all brilliant people, but in terms of concretely helping me improve my work, nearly none have held a handle to Paul. No matter your level of interest or experience, the practical, hands-on aspects of his guidance have a huge impact. It is some serious biz. (!) I write boring overwrought prose poems, but when I had an idea for a short story and couldn't get started....Paul came through. He grilled me on the thought, worked to clarify and storyboard it together, and helped me crank something out in my usual style to finally rearrange into a narrative sequence, literally word by word. It was a rigorous process; he was patient, generous, and in a genuinely pleasant mood the entire time. He was so cheerfully devoted to helping me figure it out, that whatever anxiety or pressure I'd generated for myself was eventually just stomped out by Paul's unconcernedly benevolent aura. He made it feel plausibly attainable; now I have a novella that I would never had written without him. Truly, in Paul We Trust. You want to perfect the atmosphere of one scene? You want to produce an epic in 6 weeks? You've just opened a notebook and want to shoot your shot at a short story? You went through your notes app and realized that you've actually been writing poetry for years and the time to take it seriously is now?! Whatever the case may be, Paul will almost certainly be able to dive in and help you make it happen. I am so grateful that he is an educator; I cannot recommend him enough.

Ok, seriously. 5 stars. I'd give more stars if I could. Over the last 2 months, my husband and I have hired so many other agencies. We hired big name PR firms, with online presences and owners who look really good when I researched them. But maybe they were too big for a small business franchise opening, and maybe we weren't important enough. I don't know what happened, but we could never get a call back when I asked for one. I called, emailed, texted, and if they returned my call, it would only be to sell me more marketing stuff. They never answered my questions, our work was never done when they said it would be, and there was no communication. Finally, I just did some research online to try to find a writer to write up a flyer to pass out to the local community in our neighborhood. I found Overnight Publicity, but I didn't know I would find a new PR firm. I interviewed a few companies, but Overnight was the clear choice. Not only did they write up the flyer, they helped us with the entire grand opening PR launch! We were on a tight deadline because of launch date, and because we already lost so much time with the other PR agency. After I spoke with the sales woman, I was assigned Frank as my publicist. His experience in the industry shows. Immediately, he called me and we talked about our brand message, how we can differentiate ourselves locally (even against the other franchise locations in the city), and how to leverage the company brand, as well as our own personality in the advertising. The team helped advise me on what kind of photos to take of our desserts so the glaze popped more in editing to stand out and make an impact on social media more. They taught us their technique of batch filming which really helped us feel less stressed out so we wouldn't have to figure out what to film every single day. Our grand opening is next week, and we are prepared. With the help of Frank and his team at Overnight Publicity, we are going to have local news coverage there. We've already been interviewed in the local paper, and the reporter came out to snap photos of my husband and I at the store. She said she will publish our grand opening article on Thursday-- the day before the opening. Overnight helped write a jingle and find a voiceover actor to film our radio commercial. There is so much other work that they did for us, I would be here forever if I listed everything. I know we are not their only client, and we're certainly not their most famous or biggest client, but, they sure made me and my husband felt like we were heard. They responded in a timely manner, and the pace in which they worked and provided check-ins for our project made us feel like we were a priority. We will always continue to use them. Again and again. I feel very lucky to have found them. We are customers for life.
