Kelsey has been walking my 6 month old pup for a few months now. I can’t recommend her highly enough! She is so good with him, he always comes back happy and tired, luckily for me! I have recently boarded him at her house when I was away for a week. He was very content and comfortable there, I loved seeing all the updates of him. My dog has just finished his stay at home boarding. My dog came home happy and settled, which is so great to see. I’ve previously put him in kennels which didn’t suit him at all. Kelsey looked after willow for me whilst I went away on holiday for 4 days and I couldn't have trusted anyone better to look after willow. Kelsey kept me updated on how willow was getting on, took so many lovely pictures and gave willow such a lovely time whilst I was away and I knew my little puppy was in safe hands. My 2 dogs have been going with Kelsey for a while now...1 is extremely energetic but always comes home happy and exhausted, the other 1 is a rescue from abroad who is extremely anxious and hasn't had a real opportunity to play with other dogs or actually be a dog. .I was really worried about how he would be...he absolutely loves going out with Kelsey she has worked wonders with him...he plays with the other dogs and also comes back happy and tired. I Needed some help with dog walks on a busy week when luckily I found Kelsey’s post on the local community group. So glad I contacted her! She was so professional and friendly (to dogs and people). We opted for the secure field walk and Skye was out both days for 2.5 hours (including travel) and came home happy and tired. The service is great because they do thorough checks on jabs/flea treatment, pick up and drop off to your door, send you photos of them having fun and when Skye came home she wasn’t filthy even though she had been running around a field. I found Kelsey through my local FB community group. I have an old dog (14yr old rescue lurcher) who is nervous around new people so I'm usually anxious about leaving him wth someone he doesnt know. I booked him in for a trial night before an 8 day stint. He had a great time and was well looked after. I had no worries leaving him for the 8 nights while I went on holiday. Kelsey kept me updated with photos and news while I was away. Dexter was very well looked after, settled in nicely and had a fun time with the other dogs. What do you love most about your job?
There are many things I love about my job. Here are a few reasons:
- I get to spend time with dogs. As a dog lover, this is a great way to spend my days. You'll get to play with them, cuddle them, and take them for walks.
- I get to help people. Dog owners often need help taking care of their pets. Therefore me being the helpful naturing person I am, this is very rewarding for me. As I make a difference in the lives of both dogs and their owners.
- It's a fun job. Taking care of dogs is a lot of fun! I get to meet new people and make new friends. And I get to learn a lot about dogs and their behaviour.
- Get outside. Taking dogs for walks is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air.
- Relieve stress. Spending time with dogs can help to reduce stress and anxiety.
What inspired you to start your own business?
- I love dogs. Therefore I was drawn to dog home boarding, day care and dog walking because it allows me to spend time with and care for dogs.
- I don’t like kennels! Therefore, I believe there should be an option for dogs to spend their time in a loving homely environment while their owners are at work or on holiday!
- Flexible working. It is a flexible job so I can choose when to work.
- Helping others. Dog home boarding, daycare and dog walking can be a way for me to help others by providing a service that meets a need.
