Doug knows his stuff but is a good listener and tailored programmes to suit

In the past I attended classes at the gym but had always been too nervous to use the ‘real’ gym, largely because I was a complete beginner and had no idea what I was doing.

Doug spent a lot time showing me the basics and implementing a training plan that I was also able to follow when he wasn’t with me. Furthermore he really helped me to understand the process as opposed to me blindly following direction.

Doug is extremely knowledgeable, personable and organised. Not only have I seen great physical results but also a vast improvement to my mental well-being (all whilst still being allowed to eat chocolate!)

After being sedentary for an extended period of time - I decided to get personal training to help with my fitness and health.

I met Doug, we spent some time speaking through what I wanted to get out of training and what I needed to commit to. Doug set up a program and we worked through it together, with Doug being an amazing sounding board, but always making sure I keep myself accountable.

Through working with Doug, I have really enjoyed not only getting fit, but exercising again. The approach Doug takes is incredibly professional, thoughtful and tailored for each person. He invests himself in each person’s health journey and will work with you through every challenge or compromise in order to make the lifestyle changes we need.

It is definitely fair to say that working with Doug helped me immensely. I had spent years running myself into the ground exercising daily and yo-yo dieting all of which failed to get the results that I was after.

After reaching out to Doug for help, he arranged a free consultation which he used to gain an understanding of exactly what I was looking to achieve. We discussed methods that I had previously used and explained principles that I could implement into my daily life in order to help reach my goals.

I decided to jump at the chance of continuing to work with Doug who educated me on balancing nutrition, exercise and my social life.

Rather than getting me to blindly follow a process Doug empowered me with all of the knowledge required to understand the processes that were being put in place. I will forever be grateful for this as it has helped me achieve what I had begun to think was not possible.

I began my first 10 week programme with Doug in the Autumn of 2021 - as someone who'd never enjoyed the gym, his work out plan was easy to follow and most importantly of all got tangible results - I lost 4kg in just over two months. I'm now in the middle of my second plan, which Doug has curated for me to work alongside training for a marathon. I've been training with Doug since November and have found him to be a great source of motivation and energy in every single session. I've been seeing incredible improvement in my strength, mood, and energy since I have implemented his routines. Every session, he helps me to push myself harder in training and not give up. Also the best part is his nutritional advice is not restrictive at all and doesn't require me to change my lifestyle completely to achieve my health goals :)

Having Doug as a PT has been great, he’s taught me to be a lot more confident with using weights in the gym as well as settling me into a routine so I know what I’m doing. He does his session in a private studio gym you so don’t have to work around other gym users. He’s also really organised at getting session booked. I'm not going to lie, I went into my 10 week programme with Doug quite skeptical - I've always thought I was quite au fait when it came to fitness and nutrition and just thought that I had one of those bodies that could never really lose weight. Turns out I was wrong.

It's not that I'd been doing everything wrong, just that there were a few minor things I wasn't quite getting right. Over the course of my initial consultation with Doug he sussed them out and gave me some tangible, easy to follow steps that led to huge results - and all with minimal impact on my lifestyle.

I put my complete faith in the process and I'm so happy I did - I'm fitter, happier and healthier I've been in years. More importantly than that, I know that it's completely sustainable and have been given the best advice and guidance to make sure it continues.
