Rich has created some excellent images that are featured in many of the articles I have written. Rich works well to a brief, telling the story of his documentary and offering high quality, creative shots.

Q&As

You need to have an eye for detail, you need to be creative and you need to know how to capture your subjects at their best. Different genres of photography present different challenges and a photographer needs to fully understand his equipment to maximise the chances of producing high quality images. Sometimes you need a little luck too but you have to be observant, you need to be able to predict and you need to be well practiced. Some great images are lucky but most require a lot of hard work. When you are working with people you need to be able to make them feel at ease, you need to be polite, personable and professional.

It very much depends on the nature of the shoot but it is all about what the client wants to achieve from our time together. If it is an event I like to know who will be there, the timings, the opportunities and what the 'must have' shots are for them. With commercial and product work it is about realising the clients vision and ensuring that you exceed their expectations.

I love the variation in the subjects I photograph and the clients I work with. I intentionally work across differing genres as various elements of photography can be quite seasonal. I like the travel, I enjoy creating lasting images that will help to bolster fond memories of a special day or place. I love that I am working towards making a living from something I am passionate about. There is nothing better than happy clients you know have received great images.

Having worked for a decade in London in sales and marketing and then as a consultant I was after a new challenge. I wanted to disprove the myth that you can't work at something you love. With over a decade of experience behind me I still love what I do.

I work hard to produce high quality, lasting images. It is about giving the client what they want and doing so in a fun, relaxed way. I'm passionate about what I do and I share that through my work. I offer fair pricing and I am flexible in my approach.
