A certified trainer provides a level of personalization that a group class cannot. By focusing on your specific goals—whether that's recovering from an injury or training for a local event—you'll see faster, safer results.
Safety and expertise should be your top priorities. Ensure your coach holds a credential from a recognized body such as NASM, ACE, or ACSM. If you are looking for high-performance athletic training, look for an NSCA-certified specialist (CSCS).
One of the best ways to lower your bill is the hybrid approach. Use a personal trainer for a weekly check-in to perfect your technique, then apply what you've learned in your own solo workouts at the gym or at home.

Young at Heart Fitness (YAHF) meets the need for reliable, trustworthy, and credible fitness specialists that focus on the senior population. We help our clients become more active and motivated to get moving, whether they are deconditioned, recently discharged from physical therapy, occupational therapy or a hospital setting, or are experiencing a decline in strength, balance or mobility. Our trainers provide the personal care and accountability that seniors need to continue their home exercise programs.
We are focused on helping our clients stay fit and independent to improve their quality of life.
Getting to see clients improve their function so they can enjoy their families, grandchildren, and stay independent. Our hope is that we can educate clients, share our love of fitness, and empower them to achieve their fitness goals. We truly believe it is never too late to start exercising or reach your fitness potential. With the lifespan of the adult population increasing, it is YAHF’s mission to see these years lived to their full potential to maximize quality of life.
After working as a physical therapist for 25 years with the senior adult population in the home health industry I saw a huge need to provide a home service for those needing ongoing exercise guidance and assistance after being discharged from therapy. As a physical therapist there were many times families/patients would ask me to continue working (private pay) with their loved one after discharge because they knew they would not continue exercising on their own. I would have to decline, but I always wished I had someone I could refer them to that I could trust to do a safe and effective job. This is why I started YAHF!
Our personal trainers all have medical backgrounds as physical therapists and have worked extensively with the mature adult population. Each of us has a passion and heart for helping people stay active, fit and independent.
No, we do not offer online or remote services because we cannot provide the visual, verbal or occasional hands on touch to provide a safe and effective workout without being in the immediate presence of the client.
