I look to help guide people in the right direction, and push people when they need some motivation. I came to Warriors Nation not knowing a thing about fighting. This never seemed to matter to anyone at the gym.
The coaches have always been extremely friendly, patient and communicative. I've always felt comfortable at the gym and I believe that there is a common understanding that everyone who trains at Warriors Nation is there to improve themselves and no one person is better than the other.
The gym feels very unique with a real sense of community. The talented group of coaches working at Warriors Nation will push you to be better. There are people training at all different levels at the gym, so it doesn't matter if you are a newbie or a seasoned vet, everyone is very understanding and willing to help you learn.

Coach Curtis Harris Introduction: Let’s cut to the chase: I’m Curtis Harris, and I don’t do shortcuts, gimmicks, or wishful thinking. I build stronger bodies and smarter movers by fixing what’s broken first, stacking strength on a foundation that lasts, and using my Cross System a structured approach designed to get results you can feel, see, and move with confidence.

I’ve been an avid runner and athlete for most of my life, so when I reached a point where running long distances or even bending over caused pain, it felt deeply unsettling. What began as discomfort slowly altered how I moved, how I trained, and eventually how often I trained at all. Over time, that shift affected my conditioning, my body composition, and my overall sense of self. It spilled into my work, my personal life, and my role as a wife and mother in ways I didn’t immediately recognize but couldn’t ignore.
Working with Coach Curtis marked a clear turning point. I initially came to him as a trainer, but I quickly realized I was stepping into something far more comprehensive. Before meeting him, I had never truly understood what a corrective exercise specialist was. The way he approached assessment, movement, and progression felt several levels beyond what I had experienced before—almost like a physical therapist and personal trainer combined, but elevated in both precision and execution.
As we worked together, my strength and mobility improved in ways that were both noticeable and measurable. Movements that once caused hesitation became stable. Patterns that had been compromised were rebuilt with intention. My body didn’t just feel better—it moved better, supported itself better, and responded with a level of resilience I hadn’t felt in years. The improvement wasn’t gradual in the way I expected; it compounded quickly as each correction unlocked the next layer of progress.
One session in particular stands out. I had a moment where the weight of everything—pain, frustration, fear of never returning to who I was as an athlete—caught up to me. I broke down, convinced that I had lost something permanently. Coach Curtis met that moment with a level of honesty and clarity that I deeply respect. He told me, very directly, that I was right—I would never be the athlete I once was. Then he explained why that wasn’t a loss. Going back would mean moving backward. What had happened to me happened for a reason, and not despite me, but for my growth. I wasn’t meant to return to who I was—I was meant to surpass her. And, in his words, I already had. I just hadn’t realized it yet.
I had never looked at my situation that way before. That perspective changed everything.
I’m naturally private and to the point, but this experience deserves to be shared because it was that meaningful. Coach Curtis didn’t just help me rebuild strength and mobility—he reframed how I see myself as an athlete and as a person moving forward.
My sincere gratitude and respect go to Coach Curtis, not only for his exceptional skill as a coach and corrective exercise specialist, but for the integrity, conviction, and presence he brings to his work. The impact of this coaching has been profound, and I’m genuinely thankful.

OK, here's the deal: I was fat. I mean real fat. Like "my heart cries every time I switch positions on the couch" fat. But that wasn't always the case. I swam and played rugby in college but also remained active and competitive for years in softball, dodgeball and basketball leagues. When I moved to New York, I stopped participating in league competitions and thought I could replace my activity level with gym memberships. Not so much. I got out of shape and, as previously mentioned, fat. After 2 memberships in 3 years, I gave up the gym and tried a new activity to get me back in shape: boxing. Church St. Gym was my one and only stop to get me on the right path. I started with a class two nights a week and then continued with a membership. I haven't looked back since. Josh, Moses, Jason and the rest helped get me started not just on an exercise program, but more importantly, an eating program. It helps that I want to actually fight. Best of all, they treat me with the same respect and attention as if i was an aspiring fighter. As a result, I lost over 50 pounds in about 6 months thanks to their training and regiment. And best of all: it never gets old. I still enjoy going 3-4 times per week, which is about 3-4 times per week more than I ended up going to my old gym.Like any gym, it can be intimidating to hit the floor right away, so I recommend the class. However, you'll soon realize that there are people of all levels, ages, and, yes, both sexes. It will feel like you belong, even if you don't want to hit the ring.

My name is Juan and I am excited to meet you and be a guide to your fitness goals. Teaching is a great passion of mine and I have been a trained teacher and Coach for almost two decades. As a Certified Personal Trainer and Boxing Coach. I have taught the fundamentals of boxing to all age groups and provided special attention to each client's unique fitness needs and goals. I strive to build confidence in clients through energetic and scientific motivational coaching skills and strategies.
I love teaching and helping my clients become the best versions of themselves. Being part of their journey and observing as they reach their goals and become more confident and mentally strong is such a natural high for me.
I have been a Teacher for so many years and have always enjoyed a great rapport with those who wanted to try my exercise programs. As i gained more clients it was a natural next step to expand and serve my community on a larger scale.
Any potential clients should be very meticulous about the Trainer they decide to go with. There is an important level of trust and conformability that the Trainer and Client have to share. What I have always been consistent with and have much pride in is my ability to see my clients as individuals. I never believed in a "one size fits all" model of training clients. This is why I concentrate so much on pre-assessing and re-assessing my clients throughout. If a potential client is looking for someone who takes a scientific, data-driven approach and is highly passionate about his craft then I would be a great fit. One thing I also hear a lot from my clients is how patient I am and how professional my systems and structures are.
I can and do provide my services online/remotely.
Most of the workouts take place outdoors in a safe and clean neighborhood park. The equipment is always sanitized and I am respectful of any concerns my client may have and make any adjustments they may ask for within my reach. When indoors all CDC guidelines are meticulously followed and since my sessions are mostly one-on-one in nature there is never a gathering concern.
