Being in the water is always relaxing, and learning how to swim from professionals will help you overcome your fear and become more confident.
  • Bark can find you swimming lessons that are fit for all ages. You can find swimming lessons for adults, professionals, beginners, teens, and even swim classes for toddlers. Swimming from a young age will help the body develop properly and make the child fitter and healthier. What do you love most about your job?

All classes are taught by an experienced Swim Instructor, Mark Roizman, owner of Mark's Swim Academy, in Waltham, MA.

Roizman has been teaching swimming for more than 30 years both in the United States and in Moldova (the former Soviet Union). He has a Master’s degree in physical education from the Pedagogical University of Moldova.

Roizman teaches individuals anywhere from six months old to adults. Instead of breaking things down into age groups, Roizman separates his clients into levels depending on their ability. He teaches front curl (freestyle), backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and flip turns.

“The most important thing about working with kids is that you have to love them. You have to teach them step by step and you can’t jump over things. The most important thing that I can tell people is that I start with the basics and work my way up when I teach.”

“Swimming is a special sport. It is one of those sports where you can’t start and stop because then there is a good possibility that the fear of the water will come back. It is important to introduce things to people and never push. People will learn quickly if you teach on their individual level rather than teaching at your pace.”

Hi I am afraid of the deepnot not more 6ft in deep failure.. because...I was in the beach nearly drowned a few times. 2nd whilst learning to swim I was pushed over in the deep side of pool and body was cramping...I was not able to cope with the situation pretty well.i panicked..this had built up a safety mode in me to stay on the side and never go in the middle of a pool...I still hang on the side...Thanks I need help who is caring patient and will help me..I went to a lot of places before and was unsuccessful.i had to deal with impatience cursing being called names etc...lying,carelessness,and uncaring manner..I am challenged from everyside..please help..

Lessons are for my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter Dee Dee. . They have a pool at their apartment in Phoenix, near Osborn and 12th Street. Mom is a swimmer. Dee Dee loves the water. It’s more of a mommy and me lesson until Dee Dee is comfortable with it. She’s shy around strangers sometimes,
