The biggest secret is consistency. While I'm sure everyone will agree that exercising is important, and nutrition will help - it is far from easy to follow through. Many people struggle to develop a health plan and stick with it. I know from experience that all of my clients that achieve significant results are those who commit to a long term plan and comply with that plan in its entirety. And its my job as your trainer to help you along the way!
There is nothing more rewarding than helping individuals overcome significant obstacles to improved health. I consider it great joy to partner with men and women of all ages who want to lose weight, move better, feel more energized, increase strength, enhance their focus, or even eliminate chronic illness. Every client brings a new adventure filled with much joy as we move towards a healthier life!
In the fall of 2009 I began experiencing severe abdominal pain which eventually led to a 20lb weight drop in less than two months. I was ill, but I didn't have the slightest clue what was wrong with me. I humbly broke from my stubbornness and visited the doctor. After several visits and a colonoscopy, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (a chronic illness in the colon). Fortunately, I was told my illness could be maintained with a simple prescription requiring me to take three pills three times a day. Yes, that's right; I swallowed nine pills every day. The doctors claimed they were unsure of the cause and that the safest plan of action would be to take the drugs and anticipate a relapse in the future.
I was disappointed with the thought of having a chronic illness that apparently had no cause and required me to be on drugs for the remainder of my life. I began to wonder if this was the only way. I believe God designed our bodies with the potential to be much healthier, however we sometimes fail to recognize our responsibility to care for the body that has been entrusted to us. I certainly wasn't acting as a faithful steward of my body and I was suffering because of it.
By the grace of God I have been free from medication since April of 2012 and I have not experienced any relapses since my initial diagnoses in 2009. Why? Because I significantly altered my nutrition and yielded my stressful anxieties over to God. What a blessing! I can only hope for my clients to experience a similar victory of their own health failures!
