Just over a year ago, I suffered a C1 fracture burst. After eight months in a Miami J brace and a soft collar, my doctor cleared me for physical therapy. During the past five years I have experienced physical therapy for my shoulder and my wrist. Each time 6 to 8 weeks after I started I was released to work on my own at home. Both classic scenarios for PT, but impersonal throughout. This time I decided I would be proactive and very selective. With the help of my insurance company, I gathered a list of physical therapists within a radius that was reasonable for frequent travel. I asked the same question of each one.
