I've been going to Custom Fit for three years now and it still remains one of the highlights of my day. I've tried to workout by myself at home or at gyms, but I often get bored or end up hurting myself. With Eric, it's never boring and he is passionate about avoiding injury. The group workouts are full of fun people and the circuit is always different. I'm in the best shape of my life and I owe it in large part to Custom Fit.

I have been working with Cole for three months twice a week. He has helped me to have more mobility and balance. My self esteem has improved and my overall feeling of well being! I've been a regular at McAlister Training since January 2018.For a few years, post-college, I struggled with being slightly obese (slowed metabolism) and having decreased flexibility and weak legs (recurring ankle injuries from basketball). I love playing sports, and I was frustrated that even in my mid-20s, I was losing the stamina and agility to play sports to support my competitive nature. I hated how I couldn't walk up 4 flights of stairs at my work without huffing and puffing!After giving up my membership to a traditional gym, I signed up for McAlister, and haven't looked back!I have a love-hate relationship with Michael's workouts ;). They are really tough! I was used to lifting heavy weights, skipping leg day and cardio, and now everyday is leg/core/full-body day. Even now, I'm usually crumpled on the floor in a ball of sweat. But, I love how it positively affects me, physically and mentally. My legs have never been stronger. I have more overall strength, endurance, and flexibility than I've ever had. I feel more confident when I'm playing sports, I love that my physicality and endurance doesn't get in the way of living a very active lifestyle.The thing that has be coming back is Michael. Every single workout, he's upbeat, positive and encouraging and he really sets the tone for the entire gym. He's really creative in coming up with different movements each week, and he'll modify the workouts for pregnant women and those dealing with minor injuries.
This place is amazing! As a ex trainer I had lost my life balance and my desire to be in shape as I became sluggish and my 6 pack turned into a keg! Then I came across the 6 week challenge! Eric was my first contact and he was very welcoming and encouraging! 6 weeks later I’m down 8.5 lbs my body fat is down 2.5% and my abs and starting to show! The resources and commitments combined with encouragement these trainers provide is second to none! I had a accountability coach, multiple personal trainers for jungle gym (which is amazing), and several Krav instructors who have pushed me! I've been going to Equilibrium for years and have always loved the upbeat and friendly vibe. The classes are great work outs and you can always find an open machine or free weights on the floor. All of the instructors, trainers and staff are very friendly and motivating and will help you reach any goals you have. I've been dealing with an injury for quite a long time and my trainer has helped me modify exercises to accommodate my limitations as well as given me endless support to help me reach my goals. I love going to EQ to get a great workout, but on top of that, I love it because the staff and the regulars are just genuinely happy to see you. It's a fun place to be and that makes workouts a little easier to get through! I never want to move from SLO because I know I'll never find another gym like Equilibrium, it really is a gem!
I have really enjoyed this class and have learned so much. The instructors do an excellent job at demonstrating moves and then give personalized attention as you work through them. You get a great workout while learning how to defend yourself and having a great time!
