Compassionate Heart Therapy incorporates a variety of different techniques depending on the person and what fits best for their specific situation and personality. No person is the same, therefore therapy will not look the same for everyone. Life is difficult and we could all use someone to help us through the rough patches. "My therapeutic approach is to build trusting relationships with my clients while helping them find healing, life skills, and sustainable wellness.
I am a master's graduate in clinical Mental Health Counseling, pre-licensed (credentialed, but waiting for the state to send me my license). Recognizing the unique strengths each person brings to their own journey, I am an astute listener, an empathetic partner, an advocate, and community resource. I have come to this field through my own family's struggles with substance use and mental health, have decades of experience traversing the challenges of the human experience, and offer a safe space for those I work with to do the same.
I have a passion for helping people. I offer non-judgmental services for couples, children, and individual adults who struggle with depression, trauma, anger, addiction and much more. Every day is a new day and a fresh start, you are not alone!
I have been in business for 40 years, and have loved helping people to become the best they can be, believing nothing can stop them. You can be in a class setting or in a one on one, to help you grow thru stress, set boundaries, learn how to forgive and much more. Classes are many times more effective and many time more as the interaction from another many times hits home to you.
Many of the issues that keep us stuck are rooted deep in our past. Without a clear understanding of where our patterns began, we can become frustrated with how they play out in our lives. My passion is to help you to understand the origin of your unhelpful patterns, process them, and move forward so that you can embrace your true, core self. One of the ways that I help people break out of their patterns is through a technique called Brainspotting, which is similar to EMDR.

I love frequenting body focus. The atmosphere is so inviting, and tranquil. I have had a massage by 3 different employees at body focus and they each have something special to offer. I always leave there feeling completely rejuvenated and ready to conquer my day! I also love the decor, the cleanliness, and the great attitudes of the employees. I've referred a number of people to body focus as well, and everyone I've referred has nothing but nice things to say about body focus!
Long before I started to work as a professional life coach, I was doing life coaching as a natural part of many personal and business relationships. It was a natural progression to make this my life's work. I work as a consultant for both businesses and for individuals. I have been doing consulting for a very long time (10+ years). I enjoy helping people. My sweet spot is helping women in achieving the happiness, joy or contentment they are pursuing.

I love getting to know people and helping them find and use their strengths. I know how difficult life can be at times and I know how important it is to have someone in your corner.
Counseling agencies do good work but it is also a business and I've found that counselors are pressured by their employers to focus more on paperwork and hitting numbers than actually using their time and energy to be the best counselors they can be for their clients. Being my own boss allows me to prioritize my clients.
I try my best to offer compassion, honesty and the tools you need to make the changes you want in your life but I also know that therapy only works if you and I make a good team. I will try my best to do so but if I'm not the best therapist for you than I will do what I can to find someone who might be a better fit for you.
I offer both secure online sessions via Telehealth and in-person sessions at my office in Elm Grove.
I wear a face mask and the seating arrangement in my office is far enough apart to guarantee safe distancing.
How much does Counselling cost?
Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.
What should I expect from my Counselling session?
At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.
Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:
Face to face session
Group session
Phone session
Email session
Online through live chat services or video conferencing software
You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.
It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.
What should I look for when booking a Counselling session?
You could look for Counsellors that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) which means that they have met the PSA’s required professional standards to practise.
Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.
What issues can a Counsellor help with?
Counselling can help with many issues. These include the following:
Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or eating disorders.
Physical health conditions such as infertility.
Difficult life events such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.
Dealing with difficult emotions such as low self-esteem or anger.
Sexual identity issues.
Divorce.

Can I get a Counselling Service online?
