Clifton Down Hypnotherapy

‘19 Certificate of Excellence

I am a Clinical hypnotherapist practising Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Solution Focused Goals which involves helping people make the most of their lives. Do you need something more to achieve your personal or professional goals? Are you limited by depression, phobia, stress or a stress-related physical problem? Do you want to maximise your performance in sport? Have you been diagnosed with diabetes and want to change your lifestyle and eating habits? Do you feel that you could achieve more with an improved mindset? Then let me help you. I can assist you in changing the negative thought patterns you may have developed and direct you onto a more positive, constructive path. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a form of hypnotherapy which enables the client to focus on solutions and move forward positively in their lives, rather than dwelling on the problems of the present and the past. Definitions differ, but hypnosis is essentially a trance state brought about by various language patterns. Natural trance states are quite common. We go into them every day while day dreaming, watching our favourite dramas on television or focusing on a task or train of thought. They are therefore part of our normal everyday lives.

What do you love most about your job?

I am passionate about my work and do my utmost to help those who come to me. After a lifetime of experience it feels good to help people with various stress related problems.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Being young, although I studied Physics at University, I would have liked to become a Doctor. In those days I was too naive and unworldly. Being a doctor was in a way above my then social status. Latin was required but I went to a school where latin was not on the curriculum .Fast forward quite a few years ,
a full life and knowing quite a few young young doctors ,I realized that if I was young again, in the modern world I would study to be a doctor. Well it's a bit too late for that. Having had helpful Hypnotherapy treatment during my life and being a pragmatic person I decided to become a hypnotherapist.

Why should our clients choose you?

I have a wide range of interests and a well-rounded experience of life, having worked as a teacher, a physicist, and in various capacities in the business world. My broad life experience has contributed to my personal qualities which I would characterise as understanding, sensitive, and empathetic yet realistic. I believe that these, together with the positive outcomes, are the qualities my clients appreciate.
I have a down to earth, pragmatic approach to my work helped by my experience of life.

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

You might be surprised to hear that hypnotherapy can be delivered remotely over the phone, through an online video chat platform, or with pre-recorded sessions sent by email.
