Started here in high school weighing 185. By the next fall curtis and pattie brown had gotten me up to 205. Not to mention they gave me a job at age 17 and Becca has been the most awesome manager since. The knowledge gained from this gym has allowed me to excel in athletic competition and personal training. It is by far the best gym if your looking to have a good time and get in shape. We mean business here.

Can’t say enough good things…. I’ve been to every single type of gym out there and there is nothing like the experience you get here. Rodney truly wants the best for you and wants you to reach your health goals! He listens and modifies the workouts to your ability. The gym is exceptionally clean and have peace of mind knowing he takes good care of his equipment before and after each use by cleaning it down for all of us. I’m not sure there is anything better out there that can meet all standards! Thanks again Rodney

This is the only gym that's available around the downtown area where I can walk or bike there. It's very convenient for people that work in downtown. So convenient that I actually go! The free weight and machines sections could cover more space, but the other amenities (pool, sauna, racquetball court, indoor track, etc) make up for that. Even though I just use the free weights and the racquetball court, I understand that this is a mixed used health facility - NOT a gym. There's a lot of different people going there to get healthy in different ways. Lifting weights is not the only way. The weights section is adequate for me, but I've heard other people complain (only one squat rack). The shower and locker room areas are tight, but what do you expect from a downtown gym? Oh, and free coffee in the morning!

Great people and programming, one of those gyms where you go in and get to work. Coach modified based on ability and everyone was encouraging. I am planning to be in town for 3 weeks this year and hope to stop by every morning. I made a suggestion on Google maps for where the gym is as the pin was not accurate, it is located behind the strip mall, I will add a photo...

In a busy area like South Bend, the biggest benefit is accountability. You aren't just paying for a workout; you're paying for a professional to ensure your form is perfect and your time isn't wasted on exercises that don't work for your body.
A reputable trainer must be certified. Look for certifications from accredited organizations. The most respected in the US are NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), ACE (American Council on Exercise), ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), and NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association)—particularly the CSCS for athletes.
To keep costs down, consider small group training. By grabbing a few friends and splitting the session fee, you get expert attention for a fraction of the price. Additionally, ask about 'Commit and Save' deals where buying upfront lowers the per-session rate.
