What do you love most about your job?

Coaching is my calling. I love truly getting to know people and witnessing the amazing transformations they make in their lives. It is such an honor to be a part of each and every journey.

What inspired you to start your own business?

It's a weird story....many years ago, I owned a housekeeping company. It stood out to me that many of my clients actually kept spotless homes and their true needs lay elsewhere. I began working with clients individually to partner in ways that got to the root of their issues. This ultimately led me to realize that life coaching might be my thing. A few tweaks in that direction and low and behold, I'd found my calling!

I grew up in poverty, experiencing emotional abuse and neglect and as an adult have struggled with lots of health issues. My healing journey has taught me that 'wellness' is largely a state of mind and is attainable no matter your circumstances. As I've honed my own wellness and my coaching craft, I find myself particularly drawn to those with similar struggles. Whether your biggest struggles are with your health or if the difficulty runs deeper, stemming from past traumas, I've got you covered.

People who have experienced emotional abuse and trauma (and lets' be clear: chronic health issues are traumatic!) struggle in very particular ways even with the same issues as everyone else. It's like our world is trauma-colored and we think that's how everyone sees the world. As a trauma-informed coach, I am able to meet you where you are and help you move past areas you may have been stuck in for years. Even if you've tried it all, your results are likely lukewarm at best because you were not working with a trauma informed professional. I have had Complex PTSD, Leaky Gut, a slew of food sensitivities, allergies, Rosacea, allergy-induced asthma, and some undiagnosed stuff. I survived. I healed. I thrived. I get it.

Why should our clients choose you?

I have a knack for meeting each person where they are. Coaching is a partnership and together we identify goals and action steps to meet them, always starting where you are rather than where you may feel you should be. This takes so much pressure off as you can finally just be yourself.

If you haven't already, read my response to 'What inspired you to start your own business?' As a trauma-informed Wellness coach, I can help clients through struggles they may not even be aware of. This is true even if you have not been abused in any way. We've all had really tough experiences that have lingering effects that we are generally unaware of. Being trauma-informed helps me help you spot those stuck points and get you moving past it.

With a focus on folks with chronic health issues, I help you see options and choices you couldn't see before; learn how to exercise self-responsibility; how to make revolutionary lifestyle choices and even follow doctors suggested treatment plans. After a few short weeks, you'll be living a wholesome, balanced life that may seem a bit impossible right now.

Your professional life coach will be able to advise you on the full range of coaching available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted life coach today.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
