What do you love most about your job?

I love asking my client that one provocative question that causes their whole perspective to shift, and in turn empowers them to bust through their blocks and limited thinking, and sets them on fire in the direction of their goals.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I had worked with a number of coaches over the coarse of about four years, and coaching literally saved my life.
All of my life I had experienced a debilitating bipolar disorder that left me in bed usually two weeks out of the month and feeling very suicidal (I’d made two serious attempts to take my own life).
I tried everything over the course of almost 30 years — medication, therapy, hospitalization and institutionalization, diet and exercise, acupuncture— you name it — nothing worked, until...
Until I discovered life coaching.
Coach cured my bipolar disorder. Today I am symptom free.
That alone told me I had discovered something very powerful and I wanted to be part of it. I wanted impact people’s lives as mine had been impacted.

Why should our clients choose you?

The value I offer my clients is that I already am ahead on the path of where most of them want to be. However, I took the route through the wilderness. It was something like taking 40 years to make an 11 day journey.
I have streamlined and shortcut the path for my clients, and now what has taken me a lifetime to achieve, they now accomplish in months.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I conduct sessions via zoom and messenger video calls.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I have been doing all of my coaching out of doors or via phone or the internet.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
