OK, here's the deal: I was fat. I mean real fat. Like "my heart cries every time I switch positions on the couch" fat. But that wasn't always the case. I swam and played rugby in college but also remained active and competitive for years in softball, dodgeball and basketball leagues. When I moved to New York, I stopped participating in league competitions and thought I could replace my activity level with gym memberships. Not so much. I got out of shape and, as previously mentioned, fat. After 2 memberships in 3 years, I gave up the gym and tried a new activity to get me back in shape: boxing. Church St. Gym was my one and only stop to get me on the right path. I started with a class two nights a week and then continued with a membership. I haven't looked back since. Josh, Moses, Jason and the rest helped get me started not just on an exercise program, but more importantly, an eating program. It helps that I want to actually fight. Best of all, they treat me with the same respect and attention as if i was an aspiring fighter. As a result, I lost over 50 pounds in about 6 months thanks to their training and regiment. And best of all: it never gets old. I still enjoy going 3-4 times per week, which is about 3-4 times per week more than I ended up going to my old gym.Like any gym, it can be intimidating to hit the floor right away, so I recommend the class. However, you'll soon realize that there are people of all levels, ages, and, yes, both sexes. It will feel like you belong, even if you don't want to hit the ring.

Coach Curtis Harris Introduction: Let’s cut to the chase: I’m Curtis Harris, and I don’t do shortcuts, gimmicks, or wishful thinking. I build stronger bodies and smarter movers by fixing what’s broken first, stacking strength on a foundation that lasts, and using my Cross System a structured approach designed to get results you can feel, see, and move with confidence.

Curtis is More Than a Trainer—He’s a Game Changer
Before I started working with Curtis, I felt stuck. No matter how hard I tried, I wasn’t seeing real progress, and it was frustrating. I had bounced between different workout programs and diets, but nothing seemed to make a lasting impact. To make matters worse, I had torn my rotator cuff years ago, and despite multiple rounds of physical therapy, I had resigned myself to the idea that my arm would never be the same. It felt like I would always be limited in what I could do.
Then I met Curtis, and everything changed.
Curtis is not just a trainer—he’s an expert in fitness, nutrition, and movement science. His knowledge of kinesiology, muscle activation, and injury recovery is on another level. He doesn’t just throw exercises at you; he understands exactly how the body works and customizes everything to fit your needs. With his guidance, I didn’t just work around my old injury—I rebuilt my strength. That same arm I thought was beyond repair is now just as strong as my dominant one. I never thought that would be possible.
But his expertise goes far beyond the physical. Curtis understands that training is just as much about the mind as it is about the body. He knows when to push, when to adjust, and how to motivate in a way that feels inspiring rather than overwhelming. He helped me break through mental barriers I didn’t even realize were holding me back, and because of that, I’ve achieved things I never thought I could.
Another thing that sets him apart is his flexibility. My schedule is packed, unpredictable, and often chaotic, but Curtis has never let that be an excuse. Whether it’s a last-minute session, a late-night or early-morning workout, meeting at his studio, my home gym, or even squeezing in time on a weekend, he always makes it work. I’ve never had a trainer so committed to his clients' success, no matter what their schedules look like.
Physically, the transformation has been massive. I’ve lost a ton of weight, I’m leaner, stronger, and my confidence has skyrocketed. But the biggest surprise has been how much this has impacted every area of my life. I have more energy, I sleep better, and I just feel like the best version of myself.
Above all, Curtis has become more than just my trainer—he’s become a close friend. He genuinely cares about his clients, not just in the gym but in every aspect of their lives. He’s the kind of person who invests in you as a whole, and that’s what makes training with him so different.
If you’re looking for someone who will change the way you think about fitness, push you past your limits, and be there for you every step of the way, Curtis is the one. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
