I do consulting work for small business start-ups. I am laser-focused, quirky, sarcastic, and love helping turn an idea into a business. I am a generalist- generalists are ideal for start-ups. Start-ups most often force you to wear multiple hats and learn a little bit about… almost every aspect of your business, sufficient enough to make the right calls, the right hires, etc… I tend to work for sole-proprietors and with companies employing under 15 people. I focus on marketing- “full-circle” marketing in particular, leaning heavily on tried & true principles of business psychology. I love to travel and must work for myself. Thus I have owned, run, and successfully sold five small businesses over 25 years. I know what it is like to wear multiple hats during the start-up phase, and how to maximize a start-up budget. Through these experiences I have gained insights cultivating business acumen that translates to building businesses “smarter- not harder”. Serious enquiries only, please. I have mostly worked for myself. I started working very young and was a good employee, but as soon as I got a taste of the freedom that small business ownership can provide, I was in. What has kept me working for myself is control. I want to be able to control customer service. I want to run my company the way I want to run it. I can't stand someone getting in the way of something being done well. I want the successes to be because I navigated the way. It feels good to have a goal and achieve it. Self-employment allows for that scenario over and over again.

I think that this is a very personal and important relationship. I want to work with people that want me to give them tough advice when necessary, people that are eager to learn and do the hard work. Starting a business is often a daunting task! It can't be rushed. Failures are too common.
