Carly is incredibly talented at what she does. She has an amazing eye and this unique, forward-thinking style that still feels grounded and timeless. I started out just wanting to update my kitchen and master bath—but once I saw what she created, I couldn’t stop there. I expanded the project to include all the core spaces in my home because I genuinely loved her design choices. She transformed a basic builder-grade house into a space that feels warm, timeless, and completely mine-- and the envy of my neighbors. Being in these rooms feels like being wrapped in a luxurious blanket—I feel safe, grounded, and fully myself. It’s home. And that’s all thanks to Carly.

We are deeply grateful and appreciative for the work that everyone at Pearl did to help us navigate and work with Los Angeles County to complete our project, especially considering how long it took to get through our initial stages of approval. We purchased a property with an existing illegal garage conversion and, for over 5 years, various folks from Pearl worked along with us to get our project through and help us legalize the structure and clear code violations from our title. We are ever grateful that everyone at Pearl stuck with us and saw our project through to the end. We are especially thankful for all the work of Campbell, Jacob, Richard and Bar in the initial stages of the project and we are deeply appreciative of Jorge, who guided the project through its final stages and approvals. Jorge was always willing to answer any questions in a timely manner, give us guidance where needed, meet us at the Building and Safety office to help us obtain permits when the department was being difficult, and overall went above and beyond to make sure everything was completed and finalized, as well as ensuring our satisfaction was met. Complete with new windows, siding and paint, our 100 year old bungalow and fully permitted ADU are stunningly beautiful and we receive compliments nonstop from our neighbors! Thank you, Pearl!!!

We could not be happier with our newly renovated home and our experience with Alon, Santi and their team. Before embarking on our remodel, we talked to many different contractors and while we liked a lot of them, we felt that Pearl was the only one giving us a truly honest assessment of what was possible and the cost of it all. From our first conversation with Alon, we had complete trust— something we didn’t feel with many of the other companies out there. He’s a perfectionist, and anything that was not to our liking in any way he immediately fixed. Any unforeseen problem was handled in a way that actually left us happier than we were before. Their attention to detail and quality is incredible, and it shows in the work they do. They transformed our home into an incredible place, and it was a pleasure working with them.

What makes a great Kitchen Design?
A kitchen is often regarded as the hub of a home and as such, is a hive of activity. From cooking, socialising, eating and cleaning - there’s a lot that takes place in a kitchen! So what you should aim for is a kitchen that truly works for your needs and gives you plenty of space to be able to move around in.
If the layout is awkward or lacks space it’s simply not going to work for your family. So, if you are currently having any such issues then this is what you need to tell your kitchen designer. Invite them into the space so they can suggest an alternate solution. You can then begin to think about the aesthetics which will work in tandem with the initial design and planning.
Different types of Kitchen Designs
Many different elements make up kitchen design, including the layout of units as well as the placement of your appliances. These categories reflect the style you wish to opt for, so narrowing these down will help determine your kitchen design.
Luxury Kitchens - Luxury kitchens have bespoke features and premium quality materials. For example, granite worktops, underfloor heating, extensions, or a sliding door leading straight to the garden. Luxury kitchens are exquisite, which makes them far more expensive than regular kitchen design. However, when designed well, they will increase the value of your property.
Modern Kitchens - Trends are ever-changing, but the current definition of a modern kitchen is something which uses clean colours and is flooded with natural light. Sleek, glossy units are also very popular, as are ‘hidden’ features that keep things minimalistic.
Rustic Kitchens - Want a kitchen that makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the countryside? Rustic designs use earthy materials such as wood and stone, to create a homely feel. They are ideal for those who love to cook, especially with traditional appliances such as an Aga oven.
Simplistic Kitchens - Not all kitchen designs have to be big and fancy. It’s perfectly possible to keep things simple, especially if you’re working with a much smaller space. Simplistic kitchen design is all about going back to basics. It will focus on giving you space to prepare your food and use the sink, rather than adding in too many units or pieces of furniture.
Can I find a Kitchen Designer online?
Yes! Bark makes it simple to find and hire a Kitchen Designer from the comfort of your home. Just tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll connect you with the best Kitchen Designers for the job. Most Kitchen Designers will be able to offer their services online or remotely, all you’ll need is a phone or a strong internet connection.
How much does Kitchen Design cost?
Usually, kitchen design and planning comes included in the cost of the entire kitchen. It will be provided by the installer or company you buy your units from.
What to look for in a Kitchen Designer
As with any designer you are looking to hire, a flair for creativity, innovation and problem solving are highly desirable qualities. Ideally, the individual or company will be highly experienced in the inner-workings of a kitchen. They will fully understand what pitfalls to avoid, and be able to advise on what layout would maximise the space and natural light in your home.
