Honestly I love to help people. Even in my past occupations I found ways to help people with what I do and solar is a great way to help people in that I can create opportunities for those without a solar system yet, or create solutions for those having problems with their existing systems.
I started my business when I saw the solar industry in need for better customer service, better quality installs, and a need for electrical experience. I wanted to provide just that to customers. I've spoken to so many customers who felt they lost hope with solar, having contractors abandon their jobs, or recieved a poorly installed system. I do the best I can to show my customers that there ARE contractors who genuinely care for the greater good of not just my occupation, but the safety of your home.
As a small business we have the capabilities of spending more time with our customers, tailor-fitting their specific solar needs and making sure afterwards that they recieve that satisfaction. Not only do we provide great customer service to our customers but a true quality install. We utilize our electrical experience to assure a quality equipment install with proper interconnections. We assure our roof penetrations are properly sealed and with our roofing partners can assure a maintained roof warranty of up to 30 to 50 years. Making sure our customers get what they want or need from solar is what matters most, and we want to bring to this industry something different for our customers.
Unfortunately no, we are be able to give our quotes online and give an accurate system size or price, but our site surveys will unfortunately have to be in person as well as the install.
Ever since the pandemic we were originally requiring our employees to wear masks during interactions and keeping safe distances. Offering virtual payment options and safe situations during those critical times. Now as things have simmered down we are aware that some still take extra precaution for their safety so we give that option to all of our customers if they request that we wear a mask.

Buckle up, this is a long review, but hopefully worth it if you use them to help make your decisions. If you want the Reader’s Digest / TLDR - I highly recommend Ross and STE. if you want better details, read on. I have always been interested in solar but knew I needed to wait till I was in my presumably forever home, which we now are. In the spring, I started looking into local solar companies. I lurked on community Facebook posts, spoke with neighbors, and lined up meetings with five companies that people had used. Ross was the first we met with, so at the time, we had no perspective. He made confident claims about his company, which I took with a grain of salt. We met with three more after him. Ross included not just the numbers in his estimate, but also detailed information about the system components so I could go look them up, which I did, so I could determine if other estimates were apples / oranges. His system components are the same as several of his competitors and he was almost $15k less expensive. I found that he explained the tax credits very well, and appreciate that if one wants to finance their system, Ross only uses an organization that charges no dealer fees. Another company that came to present to us tried to sell me on “a great rate” for financing and when I told him I would not pay dealer fees, he visibly got nervous and smirked and asked how I knew what those were. Needless to say we asked that guy to leave. Ross set our expectations very realistically considering we were installing the system in the dead of summer. He explained net metering in Florida very well with visuals to help drive the concept home. When we agreed to do business after I had interviewed other companies, another point of discussion was the fact that we have trees that shade our south roof facade. The trees are mature and beautiful and healthy, and they also don’t belong to us. So, there’s only so much we could do even if we wanted to. I got two tree trimming quotes and decided to take what they would have charged for that and buy more panels instead. In my research I discovered that even if the installer uses Enphase, they don’t always install ancillary parts of the systems and/or turn on all the options in the app, so you can’t see consumption vs production. Ross does. I geek out every day now looking at the data and knowing we are no longer slaves to Duke Energy and our thermostat. Ross remained communicative throughout the process. His installers have been with him for years. They were personable and professional when they were at our home. Celeste, his right hand office manager gal, is friendly and always quick to respond. I live local to his business HQ, so I’m also aware of several large commercial projects they did in the next town over. If you speak with him for an estimate, he will surely make the same confident claims about his business that he did with us. I can now say he lived up to all of them. That’s a rarity these days, so I give him credit for that and he deserves a great review.

I spent the better part of a year researching systems and companies for my solar install. I went through all of the usual national companies, Duracell, Mona Lee, Tesla, just to name a few. I also went through quoting with several state-wide companies. My neighbor had solar installed, so I asked him who it was and if he was satisfied. He gave me Solar Tech's info. Ross and I went back and forth for a bit and when all was said and done, he beat every other company's price as well as the lowest finance rate. I had a large system installed, 64 panels, producing enough power for 100% offset in a 3000 Sq Ft home. We've had 2 months of solid billing, and my bill is the minimum $30.00 charge that Duke allows. However, I have already carried forward credits for over 1800Kwh which will ensure that my summer bills will also be offset, and I will potentially get a check from Duke at the end of the year. My average power bill for the year was over $600.00/mo. I used to complain about the heat. Now all I feel on a hot day is the sweet flow of power back into Duke's grid. We took advantage of the tax credit, and it is a credit, for 30% of the system cost. Cha-Ching.

After noticing increasing electricity bill I called Solar Tech Elec as my neighbor is happily satisfied with them for over 3 years and he recommended the company. Mr. Ross Dyson was very nice to work with from the first visit. He evaluated my needs and explained the system as well as the installation process. He designed a system at an affordable price and stated working on it right away. They designed the system as well as got the necessary permit and installed the system in one day as soon as the permit was available. The system is nice and there are no wires or tubes running on the roof and it did not affect the appearance of the house. The meter swap was also coordinated by them and done smoothly. I was kept informed of the progress at all stages as majority ok of work except installation was done while I was away. I did not any significant time in calling the Utility or the City office as this was all done by Solar Tech Elec. I had a very good experience and if anyone is planning Solar system I strongly recommend they call Solar Tech Elec.
