The staff is thorough and patient. Rocket, my ill tempered Pomeranian usually starts his visit to a new place by finding the nicest piece of furniture to mark. He likes to follow that feat up with biting or barking at the first new face in the room. The staff at Elite Southwest calmly observed his naughty behavior during assessment and quickly came up with a training plan Rocket started as a flunky in the course but now easily has a passing grade! I don't feel that he has to be in his puppy stroller everywhere we go. He is getting more exercise and now I fell comfortable out and about. Great service!

About Kim I have been working with animals and have been around all types of animals my entire life, but have really been working specifically with dogs since 2016. My experience comes from working with dogs hands-on-- by running and owning a pet sitting company and walking dogs for many years. In the past, I worked with rescued horses and trained ground manners which teaches the horse how to behave around humans.

Behavior Modification is also available for those with special needs. Dogs don't speak English, so we need to learn their way of communication. All training, whether its learning a new trick or breaking a bad habit, takes time, persistence and patience.

My wife and I have rescued for 25 years. We’ve always done it our way, right or wrong, believing that love makes a good dog. It’s not always that easy. We currently have 4 dogs, the youngest two being Great Pyrenees. Pyrs are smart, big, strong and stubborn. Thor, our 125 lb 1 1/2 year old male was showing signs of resource guarding and even some aggression. My wife had become somewhat afraid of him. He was “my boy” and to lose him would kill me.
We labored over finding help but didn’t know what else to do. We made a few calls and got recommendations and decided on Theresa. When we got her quote we thought “ OMG, that’s a lot of money”! Then we got other quotes and realized that this is what a trainer costs. So we began our adventure with Theresa, somewhat skeptically. All I can say is WOW! It’s amazing what a good trainer can do. Literally, in minutes after her arrival, we saw behavioral changes. Over the course of the next few weeks, the changes in our dogs were amazing. They behaved, they listened, they responded on command...it was a miracle.
Having dogs is work! It takes commitment and consistency. Theresa taught us that. Months later when we had an issue with Thor resource guarding, we called our Houdini and she responded immediately. Once again Theresa came out and observed. She had to remind us that this isn’t magic, but that WE needed to be retrained and continue our work.
Dogs are supposed to make you happy, not stress you out. We had become lazy and it showed in our Pyrs. Once Theresa pointed out what was wrong, we got our act together again and our kids responded in a way that was beyond words. Our big strong, stubborn kids are so well behaved, so loving and make us so happy. Theresa is amazing. It’s not magic, it’s not a miracle. Theresa is a great trainer who understands dog behavior and communicates their needs to the owners. The money that we spent isn’t even an issue now. In fact it’s the best money that we’ve spent in a long time. Theresa is amazing to work with and the proof is in the pudding.

Since my absolute passion is and has always been the dogs, I decided to start my own Daycare and Dog training Company in Colombia which currently still exists. Thanks to my knowledge and relationship with EDUCAN S.L. in Spain, we decided to open the first franchise here in Miami, FL. My love for the dogs since I was a kid, captured my interest for more knowledge about their behavior, which moved me to start studying about the subject since 2003 in many different european cities.
